My plate is full

Monday Love

I hated Mondays. Not anymore! True, I now look forward to Monday mornings. It just brings in a wave of hope that the new week will be more productive than the previous one :)

Anyway, there are too many things going on in my life right now that there are days when I feel like 24 hours in a day is just not enough. I am sure there are days that you also feel that way. In my case, I am loving every minute of it. I actually am thanking Him for all the blessings. And I want more.

Sometimes, it becomes stressful. Other times, it’s just a breeze. Thankfully, I have little Hazel at home to make me smile when things get too serious for me. And you know what? I am becoming more patient as each day goes by. I am really happy with that. I was a very impatient person. But because you cannot really be impatient with a kid, you learn to tone it down, and hopefully to get rid of it. Hazel taught me to be patient. The patience is useful with dealing with some difficult people I have to deal with.

To unwind, I read and read and read. I have five books in my ebook reader right now. Plus I have one more paperback waiting to be read.

Some people I know feel that I am missing something. I know what they meant. A lovelife. A boyfriend. Someone to make me giddy with happiness. But my plate is already full, for now. Perhaps tomorrow? ;)

Happy Monday with a lot of lovin’ everyone! Let us all have a productive week ahead!

Less costly tickets

Traveling is fun. If I can just become one of the hosts of those travel shows that I watch every now and then, well, I would have applied right away. It would be really cool to explore different countries and stay at different hotels and see the sights. Given a chance, I would love to go to Japan and explore the whole country. I would also love to explore the whole Europe and Italy would be my first stop. It will be a really great experience and one that I can tell even my grandchildren in the future. Again, given a chance, I would really love to travel and explore the whole world.

For now, I have to content myself with traveling to neighboring countries. But if I can get low fares to go to other continents, I will gladly avail of it.

I actually told my friend about this and she introduced me to LowFares.com, a web site where you can find cheap tickets by comparing prices offered by different travel sites. Very convenient. All you need to do is enter your flight dates, your location and your destination and then how many tickets you’ll be buying. Upon pressing the search button, you will be given a list of offers from different travel sites. Compare and choose the lowest airfare you can find.

If you are traveling anytime soon, try getting your flight tickets from LowFares.com and save from the ticket cost you will shell out.

Treatment to heal your loved one

Monday, June 30th, 2008

When someone in your family encounters a problem, you immediately seek to help. That’s second nature to us. Help and protect. So if you found out that a member of your family is involved in drugs, what would you do? Will you just turn your back, pretend that everything’s alright and pray that it will go away? Or will you face the problem head on, help your loved one get on the right track and get him into a drug rehab?

Might I suggest the second choice? It is always better to face the problem head on so as to eliminate the problem early on. The same can be said of drug addiction. You know, we had a neighbor who had similar problems. They were the ideal family on the surface. Many of our neighbors are envious of them. The father works as a lawyer, the mother is a stay at home mom, their kids are studying in private schools and are doing good. Until we learned that the second kid got involved with the wrong crowd. He eventually succumbed to peer pressure and before his parents know it, he was already a drug dependent. It was heartbreaking. The parents blamed themselves for what happened. Instead of pretending nothing’s wrong was happening, to maintain the people’s view of them as ideal, they faced the problem head on and dealt with it right away. As soon as they proved it true, they all went to a drug treatment center and had their son confined. The whole family also underwent counselling, which did them a world of good when the kid got out of the facility.

If one of your loved ones is a drug dependent and you want to help them be treated so they can heal, go to The Cyn and consult their experts. Or you can know more about drug use trends as well. Have your loved one committed to their program and see him/her completely healed. Go now and visit TheCyn.com and have your loved one healed as soon as possible.

Fashionable and affordable

Sunday, June 29th, 2008

One of the many disadvantages of being on the heavy side is that there are really not much stores that cater to your size. Especially in this country. The few plus size clothing stores that we have in the metro has price tags that are not within the budget of most people. Thank goodness there is a store that my sister and I found at 168 mall that caters to plus sized women. The store carries very affordable clothes that are fashionable and does not look like the one who designed it has his or her grandma in mind. I am not ashamed to say that I frequent the place because I really like the clothes they carry plus I can afford to buy a few pieces every visit. I am sure most of you have noticed that in plus sized stores. The clothes are most likely intended for older women. Good for plus sized older women then. But bad for us younger set.

Notice Me!

Sunday, June 29th, 2008

I always read questions in That’s My Answer! And when I find a good question I’d love to answer, I post it in my blogs. I found this one and thought of posting it…

What is the craziest thing you’ve done to get someone to notice you?

Hmm… This one is really silly. When I was in high school, I was gaga over this guy. To make him notice me, I would pass by his classroom several times a day. I would ask my friends to tease me, in a loud voice so he could hear it. I would flirt with this friend of mine, fueling speculation in our circles that I was in a relationship with that guy. But in reality, I was just trying to make him jealous. I would ask our guy common friends to ask him what’s stopping him from courting me. I was desperada! Kadiri! *lol

Nothing happened. We almost became a couple but for some reason, something was holding him back.

When we were in college, he told me that he was intimidated by me. You see, I had this large group of friends plus I was popular in the school. He thought that he might be biting more than he could chew if he pursued me. He told me that. We’re friends now and I believe he’s already engaged.

Desperada! Kadiri talaga! *lol

I love travel shows!

Sunday, June 29th, 2008

My sisters and I love watching travel shows. One of the reasons we subscribe to cable tv is because we want to be able to watch all those travel shows. You know, when you love traveling but you don’t really have the money to do so, the only alternatives left are reading and watching about the places you want to go to. Watching travel shows will give you an idea of the costs of traveling to a certain place, where you can get cheap hotels, the best tourist spots to go to and a whole lot of information that you won’t get elsewhere. Plus since these shows are showing all the tourist spots already, you get this feeling like you traveled to the place with the host as well.

Gift baskets for special occasions

Saturday, June 28th, 2008

My friend is expected to deliver a baby girl by next week. Yesterday was her full term and her doctor told her that she will give birth anytime soon. Most likely by next week. She and her husband are really excited to welcome their baby. She will be a blessing to them, that’s for sure. I will be godmother to the baby and I am also excited to see her. It will be one big special occasion! I am sure of it.

For this momentous occasion, I have already prepared something, will be buying it actually, to bring to the hospital. I will visit my friend, of course. I will buy this Mommy and Baby-Cute as Can Bee gift basket. It will be for my friend and her new baby. The gift basket has Burt’s Bees products. It includes: Buttermilk Bath Soap, No Spill! Perfect for the mother and daughter!

My clock is ticking…

Friday, June 27th, 2008

At exactly 40 days from now, I will turn 30. Hard to accept that almost 30 years have passed already. Happy for the most part, sad in a way. It would have been really great if I could celebrate it with my complete family by my side. But of course, some things just don’t go the way you plan it. He has other plans for me.

You’d ask, do I have any regrets when I look back at my past? I have a lot! There are days when the mistakes I made still haunt me. There are days when even the smallest mistakes in the past are magnified tenfold in the present. Before, when I was a wee bit younger, it depressed me. Now, I may not yet fully embrace everything I’ve done in my past and there are days when I slip back to the old me, getting depressed over little things concerning the past. But I have learned to make peace with it.

I have the future to think of. I already made plans for the next couple of years. I have a set of goals I wish to accomplish in the next year or so. I pray that I will see it through.

:)
