Being childlike once more

Blogger Inspired

Aside from the blog traffic, what I love Entrecard is when I find great blogs that inspire me. One of the blogs I found through Entrecard is Live Passionately. It is an inspiring blog that I am a subscriber to. Her most recent post inspired this entry. Her post is entitled Beauty Happens in the Stillness of Your Presence.

Her post talks about a childlike timeout. It says…

When is the last time you gazed up into clouds, and discovered a creative activity or type of artistic expression that is intended to be beautiful or thought-provoking.

In all honesty, it’s been years since I last looked in the sky in the eyes of a child. When I look up, it is always with worry. I have never had a single day for years now that I wake up without a worry. Christine’s post made me stop and think about those times when I enjoy just staring up in the sky and figuring out if I was seeing an angel, a teddy bear, a hand, a smile… Even at night, I love staring at the stars and wishing for things that are beyond my reach. It makes the child in me happy. These days, with worries about so many things, health, finances, the future, well, you can just imagine how that could dampen a day.

I am always catching up: work, family issues, personal issues, the wanderlust in me…

Christine: Ask yourself this question: How am I going to love and honor myself today?

I am planning to take a day off tomorrow. A day solely for ME. I will watch this cheesy movie opening tomorrow. I will have a foot spa. I will drink coffee and look up in the sky and see if I can find the teddy bear that I saw a couple of years ago.

Note: Thank you, Christine, for a post that inspired me.

Bringing home a cat

Tuesday, July 29th, 2008

There was a time when we had problems with cat fleas. My sister went home with a cat and unknowingly, took home cat fleas as well. The cat was an abandoned pet, probably because of the fleas. Thank goodness one of my cousins knew how to eliminate the flea problems. He really took care of the cat, bringing it home with him. Now, the cat is still with him, one year old already.

Waking up

Tuesday, July 29th, 2008

Are you a morning person? What time do you typically get up in the morning? Walk us through your morning routine (what do you normally have for breakfast, how long does it take you to get ready to leave the house in the morning, etc.) Do you wake up cheery, or does it take you a little while to wake up and function normally?

No, I am not a morning person. I am cranky in the morning. There are days when I wake up smiling but those are rare days. I usually wake up around 8 or 9am. After I take care of my human needs (call of nature and all), I will boot my laptop and load the EC blogs I haven’t drop on. Then I will make a cup of very hot coffee before I will proceed to check my emails. That’s my daily routine.

How about you?

Choosing a course and Cisco certification

Tuesday, July 29th, 2008

When my brother was still thinking of what he would be taking up in college, we were giving him advices left and right. From the onset, I kept on telling him to be practical, to choose a course that will surely give him a job in the future. Coming from a middle-class family, a job is very important to us. Thus, being practical comes second nature to us. I was telling him to take up Information Technology for two reasons. First, in every industry and every country, there is an IT job. Unlike a nurse where one can only work in hospitals and other medical facilities, an IT person can work even in a hospital as an IT guy. Second reason: he can even set up his own IT company in the future. I will finance it should he want to set up one.

So he finally decided, with a push from me, to take up IT. I told him that in the future, he can get an Cisco certification and be like our two cousins who are both Cisco certified and are both working for multinational companies and are earning an impressive six-figure salaries.

This is also one of the reasons that my brother decided to take up IT. He is close to our two cousins who are both Cisco certified. They told him how extensive their trainings were and how they really benefited from it. Our two cousins work for different companies. One of them got promoted after getting the certification, now heading his own small group. The other was sent to a sister company to help them set up their IT system there. The latter got a bonus when he passed the certification.

Anyway, if you are interested with getting Cisco certified like my cousins, check out Cisco.com for more information.

Short term monetary emergencies

Tuesday, July 29th, 2008

I know that most of you have been in the same kind of situation already. Payday is still a few days, a week, away and already you are short on funds. You badly need the money but you don’t want to ask for a financial help from your family or friends. It is still preferable to seek financial help from a third party, an informal one. A financial institution sounds more appealing than running to the family and friends for help.

There are cash loans available for you. I know firsthand how hard it is to find an immediate solution in emergencies. Our first option is always running to family for help. They are the ones who can shell out cash in less than 24 hours. They are also the ones who will charge us minimal interest fees, most of the time none at all.

Processing and releasing of funds takes about 24 hours max. Minimal interest charges. Impersonal and no need to endure an embarrassing moment with the family or friends. Short term, normally paid by the next payday. That’s a payday loan.

If you are interested and you are in an emergency, just go to Perfect Cash Advance right away. Check out how they can help you. Remember, PerfectCashAdvance.com, the web site you need to go to.

Realistic and practical

It’s really scary hearing these vehicular accidents that are happening left and right not just here in the metro but also in nearby provinces. Just the other day, there was a collision of two buses in a nearby province which resulted to the death of 11 of one of the bus’s passengers. It was really sad and you don’t know who to blame in this situation. Somehow, there was a negligence on both parties.

There was also several car accidents because of traffic obstructions in the metro. The government should do something about this situation. I am sure that most of these people have an auto insurance for their cars. Still, a life lost can never be gotten back. Money is just there, it can be earned again. But the lives of these people involved in vehicular accidents…

If you would like to be sure of the future, better get an insurance. For your car, an auto insurance is easy to obtain from EZ-Insurance Portal. Just go to their web site and know more about auto insurance. Remember, if you are a parent, if something bad happens to you, at least there is an insurance that your family can use, can fall back on. Grim but realistic and practical. Check out EZ-InsurancePortal.com now.

Financial struggles

Tuesday, July 29th, 2008

When I was still struggling with my finances before, it was always so hard for me to go to my relatives to ask for financial help. It was embarrassing and imposing. There were times when I really needed to ask for help and I would just toughen it up and went ahead and asked for help. To be fair to my relatives, they never failed me. Still, those times I knocked on their doors, if there were other options, I would have taken it.

Had I known that I can make a payday cash advance, I would have done that instead of running to my relatives every time I was pushed on the wall. But I did not know about payday cash advances before so my options were limited. Now, knowing I have another option, I will surely consider it before running to relatives and friends for a loan.

A payday cash advance or payday loan is a short-term loan that is usually taken out by people who are short on cash when payday is still a few days away. Small amounts of cash, just enough to make ends meet until the next payday. This is short-term, usually paid by the next payday, thus the name. If you are interested in applying for one, just go to Easy Online Payday Loan and know more about this great way to augment your needs.
