Recurring dream

What do you think your recurring dreams mean?
I have this recurring dream where zombies and other surreal characters are chasing me away. It is set in my neighborhood. And I am always around 11 or 12 in my dreams.
A friend who studies dreams told me that it really meant that my desire to get away is always in my subconscious. Get away from this neighborhood that was once peaceful but when I turned around 12, become a neighborhood I don’t really know anymore.
My friend was right on the money. I felt this way ever since. I did not tell her any of those feelings before I told her my recurring dream. So I believe her interpretation of my dream is true.
