Understanding dementia
A neighbor’s mom is suffering from dementia. They hid it well, but then I am close to one of them so I was given the “chance” to be privy to what is happening in their home. The mom has been going in and out of treatment centers. There are lucid moments, very brief, but it would come and go. Like it never really happened. They did not see the dementia symptoms until it was too late. They thought she was just too tired to do the chores she was doing before. I remember always seeing their home clean and organized. Then all of a sudden, she just couldn’t finish the tasks anymore.
In understanding dementia, you should know that there are various symptoms. Not just with the household chores. There are too many symptoms that it is better to consult experts before jumping to conclusions. With my neighbor, they also noticed a sudden disinterest in eating. She became melancholic one moment and then too bright and happy the next. Plus many other symptoms that their doctor confirmed were indeed signs of dementia.
There’s a dementia treatment that one can get for their love one suffering from this illness. But before any of that, you can check out Dementia Guide, an online tool for those who wants to be able to recognize, understand, record, monitor and track symptoms of dementia. Visit the site at DementiaGuide.com and know more about this health issue.
