The little girl will not let a photo opportunity pass, even when she’s looking so dirty from an afternoon of fun…

Source of information

Sunday, November 30th, 2008

I learn something new every time I talk to my friends. That’s a fact. When we saw each other a few days ago, we were talking about so many things all at once. Twilight (of course!), James Patterson, baby clothes and shoes, coilovers, rent-to-own houses, and so much more. Friends are also a great source of Hollywood news. And other local news that you missed. I know that very well.

Are your friends a great source of information as well?

Goodbye November

Sunday, November 30th, 2008

Time seems like in a hurry, don’t you think? November is over in a few hours. I still have a lot of things to do in my list for this year. But so far, I am happy with the way the year turned out for me. There is just this botched franchise opportunity that my sister and I were looking into in the early part of this year that still frustrates me. Or maybe I just easily get frustrated with things that don’t go as planned. I am hoping and praying hard that 2009 will be a better year not just for me but for all of us.

My day with Edward Cullen…

Thursday, November 27th, 2008

Actually, it’s Twilight and my best girl friends, Tim and Shen. We were planning on watching the movie on opening day for weeks. We all have read the Twilight saga (books 1 to 4) several times already and the anticipation of seeing the movie was killing us. It didn’t help that Rob Pattinson is drop dead gorgeous. The guy could make you want to watch the movie just to see him.

So we trooped to Globe Platinum Cinema 10 of Gateway Mall yesterday. The screening time we chose was 6:25PM. At exactly 6PM, we were ushered into the moviehouse already. The anticipation was building up. We were goofing around the lounge and we continued it when we entered the cinema. We took some photos that you can find here. Read Tim’s account of yesterday here.

And then the most anticipated movie (for the three of us, anyway) began rolling before our very eyes…

I won’t go into a detailed account of the movie. If you haven’t read the books yet, you will surely like it. But if you are like us, who are fanatics, truly devoted to the saga… brace yourselves before you watch the movie. I tell you, you would either get really angry the way they butchered Twilight or you would laugh your head off like I did. It was hilarious the way the scriptwriter massacred the story! It was a running joke between Tim and I that I was the one who wrote the story. Tim kept on asking in a sarcastic voice who wrote the darn story every time a scene we both love in the book was shown differently.

In her seat, Shen was laughing her head off every time Jasper was in a scene. He looked like a stick was shoved up his ass! Or as what Tim said, he looked constipated! Hahaha

Our movie tickets cost us 350 pesos each. Seeing Rob Pattinson for over an hour, feasting our eyes on him the whole time, was worth that much. As for the movie, yeah, yeah… It is a vampire movie without the bite!

Grandfather

Thursday, November 27th, 2008

I learned just the other day that my grandfather wants to go to the province and just take care of the mini farm that he has there. He loves planting and stayed in the city to stay with his children and now that they are all grown up, married already and have their own families, he wants to go back to his hometown and settle there. I was looking at Blackberry plants online when I remembered my grandfather all of a sudden. He is a jolly person, self-sufficient and can really take care of himself. But sometimes, I wonder if he is happy with the way his life is going.

On Twilight the movie…

I only have one word for now: Funny!

Ha ha ha ha ha

Will update more later. I have to do something about my other blogs first :)

Today…

Tuesday, November 25th, 2008

We went to the mall and I noticed that despite the financial drawback everyone is experiencing these days, the Christmas spirit is still in full blast. So many people are in the mall this afternoon, shopping.

I haven’t done my Christmas shopping yet. Have you? I am still in quandary over what to give my hundreds of inaanak hehe… Actually, I am stuck at the moment. I don’t know what to give Sophie! Sophie is Tim’s daughter.

So anyway, tomorrow, Tim, Shen and I will be watching Twilight. Yey! I will go to watch the movie with an open mind. I have read disappointing reviews of the movie but those critics are honest enough to admit they haven’t read the books yet. I already know what I don’t like about it but again, I will be open to any possibilities. Sina-psyche ko na sarili ko baka disappointing! Hahaha

That’s all for now and I will give you a feedback of the movie tomorrow night.

Have a great week everyone!

BYBS: Simple joys

Sunday, November 23rd, 2008

My friend, Shen, and I are hopeless romantics. Just yesterday, we were talking about this guy from high school, Christian, with whom she had a crush for a long time. We were laughing while talking about things we did just to get a guy’s attention. It was really funny!

You know, one of the things I am thankful for is that I had a very decent school life. I had so much fun when I was in high school and college. My lovelife may not be for the books but it was pretty great as well. No heartaches that were too great. I think I still have to experience that one great love but if it won’t come, then so be it. I am pretty much open to any possibilities and I am not discounting the fact that I might end up single for the rest of my life. That doesn’t bother me in the least. Right now. In the future, who knows.

What I love about my life is that I can be happy in the little things that pop up every now and then. And I am not expecting ridiculously big things to come along my way. Just to live a relatively happy and healthy life is what I want. Maybe a bit of romance on the side would not hurt as well.

Can you believe that I could be extremely happy about a book? Pathetic, some would say when they get to read this. For me, though, it is the way my mind and my heart function. Simple joys that could bring the most happiness.

Gratifying and burdensome

Wednesday, November 19th, 2008

Maintaining several blogs can be both gratifying and burdensome. For one, when you have a regular following already, you tend to exhaust yourself thinking of the next best entry. For another, when you have two blogs that are quite similar, posts tend to overlap.

But it can be gratifying in the sense that when readers tell you how your post touch their hearts, you feel like you have been awarded a very important award. When comments are pouring in, it just tells you that you have written a powerful entry that aroused the readers mind and emotions, enough to compel them to comment. I love that part the most!

So even when there are times I can’t think of anything “brilliant” to write on my other blogs, I still keep it and I don’t get tired thinking of topics to write about.

Business idea

Monday, November 17th, 2008

There was a report last night at the news about different Business Opportunities for those overseas workers going back to the country after being affected by the ongoing global financial crisis. There are a lot of people affected by the crisis that there are people from the private sector encouraging them to get into business without shelling out that much capital. Imagine, one of the businesses being offered is a franchise of popular viands and the initial capital is a little over a thousand bucks. That cheap!

The Fast Food Business is still the most popular business these days. Even if the economy is down, people are still bound to eat when they are out of the house. And instead of eating in expensive restaurants, I am sure most will opt for fast food with cheaper food.

If you are thinking of going into business for whatever reason, either you were also affected by the financial crisis or you have long been wanting to go into business, you might want to get a Texas Franchise at Franchisegator.com. They have several business ideas there that you might find an interest in. Food is still one of the best business ideas there is. Go to Franchisegator.com and start that business you have been wanting for so long.

Running water

Sunday, November 16th, 2008

One of the things I am thankful for in this neighborhood my family and I are living at is the water supply. Unlike other areas, we normally don’t have any problems with water supply. If the supply is limited, we can use our water pump to gather enough water for the whole day. But that is not necessary in ordinary days.

I am writing about this because right now, the water is running here while my sister is washing the dishes. I remember visiting a relative and when you turn on their faucets, no water will flow from it.

So there are days when I can still appreciate this place we’re living in. Of course, that doesn’t discount the fact that our area is still deteriorating day by day.
