I learn something new every time I talk to my friends. That’s a fact. When we saw each other a few days ago, we were talking about so many things all at once. Twilight (of course!), James Patterson, baby clothes and shoes, coilovers, rent-to-own houses, and so much more. Friends are also a great source of Hollywood news. And other local news that you missed. I know that very well.
Are your friends a great source of information as well?
Time seems like in a hurry, don’t you think? November is over in a few hours. I still have a lot of things to do in my list for this year. But so far, I am happy with the way the year turned out for me. There is just this botched franchise opportunity that my sister and I were looking into in the early part of this year that still frustrates me. Or maybe I just easily get frustrated with things that don’t go as planned. I am hoping and praying hard that 2009 will be a better year not just for me but for all of us.
Actually, it’s Twilight and my best girl friends, Tim and Shen. We were planning on watching the movie on opening day for weeks. We all have read the Twilight saga (books 1 to 4) several times already and the anticipation of seeing the movie was killing us. It didn’t help that Rob Pattinson is drop dead gorgeous. The guy could make you want to watch the movie just to see him.
So we trooped to Globe Platinum Cinema 10 of Gateway Mall yesterday. The screening time we chose was 6:25PM. At exactly 6PM, we were ushered into the moviehouse already. The anticipation was building up. We were goofing around the lounge and we continued it when we entered the cinema. We took some photos that you can find here. Read Tim’s account of yesterday here.
And then the most anticipated movie (for the three of us, anyway) began rolling before our very eyes…
I won’t go into a detailed account of the movie. If you haven’t read the books yet, you will surely like it. But if you are like us, who are fanatics, truly devoted to the saga… brace yourselves before you watch the movie. I tell you, you would either get really angry the way they butchered Twilight or you would laugh your head off like I did. It was hilarious the way the scriptwriter massacred the story! It was a running joke between Tim and I that I was the one who wrote the story. Tim kept on asking in a sarcastic voice who wrote the darn story every time a scene we both love in the book was shown differently.
In her seat, Shen was laughing her head off every time Jasper was in a scene. He looked like a stick was shoved up his ass! Or as what Tim said, he looked constipated! Hahaha
Our movie tickets cost us 350 pesos each. Seeing Rob Pattinson for over an hour, feasting our eyes on him the whole time, was worth that much. As for the movie, yeah, yeah… It is a vampire movie without the bite!
I learned just the other day that my grandfather wants to go to the province and just take care of the mini farm that he has there. He loves planting and stayed in the city to stay with his children and now that they are all grown up, married already and have their own families, he wants to go back to his hometown and settle there. I was looking at Blackberry plants online when I remembered my grandfather all of a sudden. He is a jolly person, self-sufficient and can really take care of himself. But sometimes, I wonder if he is happy with the way his life is going.
I only have one word for now: Funny!
Ha ha ha ha ha
Will update more later. I have to do something about my other blogs first
We went to the mall and I noticed that despite the financial drawback everyone is experiencing these days, the Christmas spirit is still in full blast. So many people are in the mall this afternoon, shopping.
I haven’t done my Christmas shopping yet. Have you? I am still in quandary over what to give my hundreds of inaanak hehe… Actually, I am stuck at the moment. I don’t know what to give Sophie! Sophie is Tim’s daughter.
So anyway, tomorrow, Tim, Shen and I will be watching Twilight. Yey! I will go to watch the movie with an open mind. I have read disappointing reviews of the movie but those critics are honest enough to admit they haven’t read the books yet. I already know what I don’t like about it but again, I will be open to any possibilities. Sina-psyche ko na sarili ko baka disappointing! Hahaha
That’s all for now and I will give you a feedback of the movie tomorrow night.
Have a great week everyone!
My friend, Shen, and I are hopeless romantics. Just yesterday, we were talking about this guy from high school, Christian, with whom she had a crush for a long time. We were laughing while talking about things we did just to get a guy’s attention. It was really funny!
You know, one of the things I am thankful for is that I had a very decent school life. I had so much fun when I was in high school and college. My lovelife may not be for the books but it was pretty great as well. No heartaches that were too great. I think I still have to experience that one great love but if it won’t come, then so be it. I am pretty much open to any possibilities and I am not discounting the fact that I might end up single for the rest of my life. That doesn’t bother me in the least. Right now. In the future, who knows.
What I love about my life is that I can be happy in the little things that pop up every now and then. And I am not expecting ridiculously big things to come along my way. Just to live a relatively happy and healthy life is what I want. Maybe a bit of romance on the side would not hurt as well.
Can you believe that I could be extremely happy about a book? Pathetic, some would say when they get to read this. For me, though, it is the way my mind and my heart function. Simple joys that could bring the most happiness.
Great singers are scheduling their Las Vegas Shows. Celine Dion, George Michael, Cher and even the great Aretha Franklin! I’ve been reading about these shows in different entertainment columns online and it would be really great to watch one of it. A George Michael or a Celine Dion show would be the thing for me. Or the Cirque du Soleil!
If you are in Las Vegas or going there anytime soon, you would surely want to see a show. Go to ShowsLasVegas.com and find the show you like. Buy tickets from them, all at the best prices. ShowsLasVegas.com offers the best priced selection of tickets for all Las Vegas shows. Interested? Check out the site now.
Maintaining several blogs can be both gratifying and burdensome. For one, when you have a regular following already, you tend to exhaust yourself thinking of the next best entry. For another, when you have two blogs that are quite similar, posts tend to overlap.
But it can be gratifying in the sense that when readers tell you how your post touch their hearts, you feel like you have been awarded a very important award. When comments are pouring in, it just tells you that you have written a powerful entry that aroused the readers mind and emotions, enough to compel them to comment. I love that part the most!
So even when there are times I can’t think of anything “brilliant” to write on my other blogs, I still keep it and I don’t get tired thinking of topics to write about.
There was a report last night at the news about different Business Opportunities for those overseas workers going back to the country after being affected by the ongoing global financial crisis. There are a lot of people affected by the crisis that there are people from the private sector encouraging them to get into business without shelling out that much capital. Imagine, one of the businesses being offered is a franchise of popular viands and the initial capital is a little over a thousand bucks. That cheap!
The Fast Food Business is still the most popular business these days. Even if the economy is down, people are still bound to eat when they are out of the house. And instead of eating in expensive restaurants, I am sure most will opt for fast food with cheaper food.
If you are thinking of going into business for whatever reason, either you were also affected by the financial crisis or you have long been wanting to go into business, you might want to get a Texas Franchise at Franchisegator.com. They have several business ideas there that you might find an interest in. Food is still one of the best business ideas there is. Go to Franchisegator.com and start that business you have been wanting for so long.
One of the things I am thankful for in this neighborhood my family and I are living at is the water supply. Unlike other areas, we normally don’t have any problems with water supply. If the supply is limited, we can use our water pump to gather enough water for the whole day. But that is not necessary in ordinary days.
I am writing about this because right now, the water is running here while my sister is washing the dishes. I remember visiting a relative and when you turn on their faucets, no water will flow from it.
So there are days when I can still appreciate this place we’re living in. Of course, that doesn’t discount the fact that our area is still deteriorating day by day.
When we went grocery shopping the other day, my sister and I saw the numerous holiday food available already. My mouth watered over some of it. We almost bought that home-made sweet ham but I restrained myself. I am trying to cut down on my food consumption as much as possible, eliminating temptations at home. I will definitely need diet pills after the holidays still. But no need to indulge on holiday food this early. Hard but doable.
I now have two more new godchildren added to my Christmas list. One is Sophie, my friend Tim’s daughter. Another one is AJ, a cousin’s son. I am still thinking of what to give Sophie. Knowing her mom, I have to give her something really cute! Hahaha! For baby AJ, I might give him a Ju Ju Be diaper bag. Practical and very useful especially since my cousin is shuffling from one house to another.
My brother is asking me to help him find something in helping him build his body the way he wants it to. James is slim for a guy. But he is well-built especially now he is lifting weights. But he wants to be bulkier like our other male cousins. I am looking at http://store.bodybuildingfactory.com/ now for something that will aid him in this quest for a bulkier build. I know this is caused by the fact that he is more conscious about his body now, him being in college. But there are days I still see him as my little baby brother.
My brother James is building his muscles. He is exercising regularly, lifting. I remember my high school classmates. I didn’t see them for just one summer and the next school year, they were all muscled up already! It’s like they took 4 ad the whole summer to grow those muscles. A close friend fell in love with a guy friend of mine even more because of it. Hahaha
I am so sleepy lately. Today, I slept in then I had my siesta. But still, I am sleepy. Did I eat something? I can’t remember what I ate for breakfast. But I ate fish at lunch. Hmm… Anyway, it might have something to do with my lack of exercise and well, I don’t move around that much. Ever since I worked at home, this is one of the things I am battling with. Regular exercise. Unlike when I was still working, of course, I walk around a bit. Oh well, I will have to whisk out the step-on machine and start that daily regimen now. First, I have to look into aluminum fence installation first. My cousins are always left at home without their parents. They are teens now but it still is more safe to install a fence around their house.
If you are watching teen shows, you will notice these teens who are so skinny you can already see their skeletal make-up. It’s like they are all addicted to diet pills and have gone bone-thin because of it. I notice these things because Hazel loves watching teen shows. I also read in several entertainment sites about the stars of the new Beverly Hills 90210. How the stars are so anorexic-looking one of them is like a walking skeleton! It’s okay to want to be slim and sexy and healthy. But it’s another thing in bringing it too far you’d become anorexic in the process.
I am not getting any younger. I know that. I often hear my friends and relatives tell me this. They want me to be proactive in my search for that special someone who will sweep me off my feet and will live happily ever after with me. Blah.
Holidays for singles is what they suggested when I saw my friends a couple of weeks ago. You can find it at JustYou.co.uk, a web site dedicated to holiday cruises. They have a specialized cruise for singles out there. Imagine being in a ship where all you meet are single like you? It would be a great way to meet a potential special someone, right? A Single Cruise sounds appealing to me.
So if you are looking for Singles Cruises, where you will have a high probability of meeting someone you can date, single like you, go to JustYou.co.uk and book a passage for a singles cruise. It would have been really great if me and my other single friends can go. It will surely be a lot of fun. I know I am not getting any younger. Maybe a singles cruise will do me a world of good. And jolt me out of my complacency.

I love floral centerpieces! It brings joy to a rather dull room, don’t you think? Well, I think it does. When you go to my grandma’s house, you can just feel instantly that old people live there. She lives with my two grandaunts. And they are all senior citizens already, over 60 now. But because they love flowers at home, it makes every room look alive.
You can always find a floral centerpiece on the dining table and at the living room center table. The one at the living room is fake flowers. While the one at the dining table is always fresh. Changed after a few days. The three old women love flowers and it makes their house more cozy, lively and bright. All their visitors would remark on the effect of the flowers on the atmosphere of their home. I, myself, notice it every time I visit them.
Their floral centerpieces would be lovely this coming Thanksgiving. I will volunteer to buy their center table fresh flowers even for just this holiday season. I saw lovely centerpieces at www.1800Flowers.com and I have an idea what will go well in their living room. I can already see the effect of the floral centerpiece come Thanksgiving!
