When something happens at home, I always tell myself not to tell anyone outside the family about it. Nakakahiya kasi. Like what happened last Sunday. But when I talk to Tim, it is normal that I blurt out things that happen at home. In the same way that I am used to her telling me things happening in her home.
We’ve been friends since second year high school. 17 years now! She’s one of those persons you’d feel comfortable spilling your guts out to. We share the same interests. We are both bookworms. Nothing interesting happening in my life lately. Just this splitting headache that I have for a few days now. I think it has something to do with my eyes. I will have it checked next week. I just don’t feel like going out this week. I was supposed to get new eyeglasses when I met with Kuya Dom and company but well, I had errands to run that day as well. Next week. Or these headaches will never end.
I was supposed to go to my grandma’s and spend the day there. But after taking a bath, my eyes felt heavy and I just know that if I go there, I will only spend the time sleeping on their squashy sofa. Or stare at the passing cars. My brother and I used to do this when he was still alive. Staring at passing cars and talking about the future.

It is easy to say these things, I know. Harder to put into practice. But if we just keep in mind that happiness starts within ourselves, we could somehow reach that plane where we are experiencing real happiness. Or something close to that.
