Rhinoplasty

Saturday, February 28th, 2009

Rhinoplasty is very common these days. Gone are those days when you cringe at the thought of someone undergoing rhinoplasty. These days, it is like buying something from the drugstore to remedy your skin breakout.

But of course, you have to make sure that you are getting this procedure from the medical experts. You should know that you have an option to get Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty or an Ethnic Rhinoplasty and not just the traditional one. A local celebrity lost her great voice because of a botched operation. It was not publicized immediately, the celebrity doing everything to regain her lost voice. But it was apparent when she held a concert a few months after the rhinoplasty. The once magical voice became throaty, too far from the voice that so many critics had praised. And then she told the truth about her botched operation.

So to be sure that everything will go smoothly for you, go to Rhinoplasty.net and seek the help of the experts!

Good novels

Saturday, February 28th, 2009

I was reading a really good novel a couple of days ago. The scene was a snowstorm and you can feel how cold it was in that scene. The girl was huddled in a corner, shivering, feeling the cold seeping into her bones… I thought I might need an electric blanket just by reading that scene!

Some authors are really good in describing a scene. You can feel it yourself, like as if you are there in the book. Those are the novels that I think are truly great :)

Growing up

Friday, February 27th, 2009

Hazel is growing up a kikay! Remember I’ve written several times here that she loves High School Musical, Camp Rock and everything Jonas Brothers? Well, the little girl is expanding her likes. She now notices other things. Like the UGG boots that Demi Lovato wore in Camp Rock. The hairstyles of the Disney girls. The screaming fans of the Jonas Brothers. And even dresses she see! The little girl is growing up. Sooner or later, she’ll be one of those screaming fans watching the Disney teens perform on stage. Sigh.

Home lamps

tasklamp

I love soft lighting. That’s why lamps are a must at home. Whenever I feel like relaxing, I turn off the overhead light and turn on the table lamps. The soft glow helps create a relaxing ambiance as well as a cozy feeling at home. I especially love doing this at my corner where my computer equipment are.

I remember last year when a friend visited me at home and saw that my corner had poor lighting. She suggested a task lamp from Farreys.com, the same task lamp that she has in the office. I love it! When I saw it, I just know it will be perfect for my home-office desk.

If you want one for your home desk or office table, go to Farreys.com now and check out the task lamps that they have there. You can also find desk lamps at Farreys that will also be as perfect as the task lamp for your desk.

Much needed R&R

Friday, February 27th, 2009

It’s weekend once again! Time for some much needed R&R for all of us. Tomorrow, I might be going to the mall to watch a movie with Hazel and my sister and to check out some led lighting. I didn’t go out the whole week except for Ash Wednesday. The heat is unbearable in the morning until mid-afternoon! As much as possible, I stay indoors and put the electric fan on steady, directly to me, of course :P

All the difference in the world

Blogger Inspired

I haven’t posted a Blogger Inspired entry in months. The last time I posted one was in July of last year.

Anyway, I am a subscriber of a blog called Marc and Angel Hack Life. I love this blog so much! Their entry for yesterday is entitled How to Make All the Difference in the World. The entry is about an old woman who scrubs the shells of a couple of turtles to help them swim better. Marc sees the old woman doing this every Sunday when he jogs around the area. He asked the old woman what difference it makes that she helps a couple of turtles when “99% of these turtles don’t have kind people like you to help them clean off their shells.” According to the old woman, “Sweetie, if this little guy could talk, he’d tell you I just made all the difference in the world.”

The entry just made me think of my dad…

My dad loves helping other people. No matter if he doesn’t get anything in return. A simple thank you would suffice. What he wants to see is for our neighbors to rise above their stations in life. Just this past couple of days, he’s been helping a number of jobless men in our little area get legitimate jobs abroad through my aunt (his sister) who has a recruitment agency. Two will be leaving before March ends. Four more will be following suit.

make-a-difference-today

You see, you never know that the difference you make in a person’s life could spell the whole world to him. It can be the start of something big. For that person, you just made all the difference in the world. A difference need not be something grand. It need not be something that can affect a hundred people in one fell swoop. It can be a simple gesture to someone.

Make a difference in your own simple way. I hope I am making a difference in other people’s lives, too.

I learned that The Blogger’s Guide is looking for the best city blogs. I am interested not only to enter but also to check out the other blogs that will be joining as well.

If you don’t know yet, The Blogger’s Guide has launched a travel blogging competition that started last January 20 and will end on March 16th. If you don’t have a blog of your own yet, better create one now. Just a reminder, they won’t be accepting blogs from paid bloggers. Scattered thoughts

Tuesday, February 24th, 2009
  • When I am bursting with energy, I end up doing less than what I intend to do. I either get sooo sleepy because I cannot channel the excess energy or I end up annoying the hell out of my siblings. Last night I was trying to finish a write-up. For some reason, when I am consciously doing a write-up, I end up not being able to write about it even more. I am hoping to finish today and I should, otherwise it will cost me some big bucks.
  • It’ll be 11 years since my brother died on March 11. He would have been 26 last February 21st. I was talking to a cousin, the one closest to my dead brother and the same age as him, on what he would be now if he is still alive. Will he be married by now? Or an engineer already like what he was planning to become? Course, we will never know. There are days when I still think what a waste that my brother died so young. He was only 15. We were closest. I know that if he’s still with us, our youngest won’t be as difficult to deal with than he is now. He’d be the one to be able to control him. And my dad will probably be happier than he is now. He’s mighty proud of that brother of mine and you just know he loved him more than anyone of us.
  • Oh, I just lost my PR here. From 3 to 0. I guess it’s bound to happen with a fickleminded G handing out this rankings. Fortunately for me, when this happened, I got two blessings that overshadowed the slap hehehe
  • Hazel is sick right now. She has a fever and her dad gave her a bath the other day even though my dad told him that Hazel had high fever. Now she’s more sick than ever because besides the flu, she now has clogged nose. Sigh.
  • I get so sleepy all the time. I am a bit addicted to this book series I am reading at the moment. I am almost through with Book 3 and will be starting the last book tonight. After this, I have 3 more books waiting for my attention. However busy I am or tired, I always manage to read a chapter or two every day. When the book is a page turner, expect me to read a couple of chapters before I close my eyes. And that would mean being sleepy in the morning. Worth it, though :P

That’s all for now. Happy Tuesday everyone!

Referred by whom?

Tuesday, February 24th, 2009

Have you been called by a local hotel to tell you that you are selected for a free hotel night in any of their hotel branches? I have been contacted several times by a local hotel to go to their office to get my certificate. I decline these offers. Always. I just feel like it’s a scam of some sort. Because you know, when you ask them how they got my number, they would just tell me someone referred me to them. When you ask them who it is, they won’t tell you who. Why??? Fishy, don’t you think?

BYBS: Burst of inspiration

birdandsky

I admit that I need a reminder from time to time. You know, just a little something to jolt me into action. I do tend to be a bit lazy on slow days (which is almost every other day for me hehe) and it would drag on and on. And then something comes up that will remind me to go back on track. Kakahiya but that’s me :hihi

The past week was a blessing to me really. I needed something to inspire me and then it came out of nowhere. Little things bring inspiration to us, we are just too busy to notice it at times. Good thing I was paying attention so I didn’t miss it.
;)

Happy Sunday everyone!

Help desk

Saturday, February 21st, 2009

I will tell you a secret dream I have… to become an IT support! :D When I told a close friend of mine about this dream I have, she was not surprised anymore. She knew how much I love helping others solve technical problems. Of course, I will be the first one to tell you that I am no expert. I graduated with a degree in Accountancy. I only know what I learned through trial and error and from the research I do. Help desk is what those close to me call me.

But for those who are really interested in putting up a customer support in their web sites, manned by someone who is a technically competent person, there is a Help desk software that you can use. The help desk script I am talking about is named “HESK”. It is a free script, alternative to commercial customer support help desks. Just imagine, you put up a web site that offers say, shared web hosting. But then you are not financially sound yet to hire a technical support person to be there to provide help. So instead of crippled by that little problem, why not get a free customer support software that runs with a MySQL database. A ticket-based support system is now set up for your web site.

Like I always say, customer support is very important. The after-sales is as important as the before and during. You just never know when your customer is someone big who has the potential to become a repeat customer. Or better yet, who has a legion of friends who are all potential customers themselves.

So if you want to become a great business, better provide a help desk at your web site where customers, existing and potential ones, can create a ticket when needed. And for the free help desk software you need, go to PHPJunkyard.com now.

Professional help

Saturday, February 21st, 2009

It could start with occasional drinking. Or the weekend partying. It could be the the one bottle every now and then. And then it could lead to something big. Because underneath that bottle or glass of alcohol, there is a problem deeper than the bottom of the glass.

A family member, a friend or a love one might be in need of alcohol treatment. If you think he or she does, seek professional help right away! Go to TheCyn.com and read all the information you need. The Canyon is a world renowned rehabilitation and treatment center. They can help you and your love one survive a problem brought on by addiction. It could either be addiction to alcohol or substance abuse.

There is no shame in seeking professional help. What is shameful is letting a love one you believe is suffering from alcohol or drug addiction deal with it by himself. Or worse, denying the problem even existed. Seek help fast! For alcohol and drug addiction help, go to TheCyn.com now.

Auto Love

Friday, February 20th, 2009

It was about two years ago that I was fully acquainted with Honda cars. The company I was employed at is partial to this car brand. The reason why they are partial to it, I was told when I asked, is that this car brand is never made into car for hire in this part of the globe. And when I checked, there is a clause in the agreement that the buyer will sign when he buys a Honda car that he is indeed not allowed to turn his car into a car rental vehicle.

Have you seen the Honda Fit already? It is a subcompact that has an improved visibility unlike other cars. My friend’s father is into Honda cars. That’s why when I go to his place to chat and his dad is there, chances are, his Honda cars will come up with the conversations. He is eyeing this car for some time now, I know. So when I asked him about it, he already has a list of the wonderful safety features like the antilock disc brakes, front seat side airbags and full-length side-curtain airbags. If I am the buyer, I will look into the safety features first and foremost. With so many vehicular accidents happening these days, safety of the passengers should be a priority. And clearly, the Honda Fit prioritized safety.

And then there’s the Honda Hybrid. This is designed with the younger market in mind. It is a green car that cuts your fuel consumption significantly. If you are in a budget and is looking for a car, this one is for you.

The Honda Civic Hybrid is a bit pricey but since it’s a Honda, you are assured of your money’s worth. What Honda car will you buy?

Cute kids

cute-kids
They’re so cute! You should have seen Bianca’s rosy cheeks.

Hazel and I went to meet with Raquel and her kids, Maria and Bianca, this morning. They are here in the Philippines right now for a vacation. Raquel and I were supposed to meet before but she was pregnant with Bianca then and she had some things to attend to. This is the first time we’ve met in person. We’ve been online friends for over a year now, if I am not mistaken. It’s good to finally see her in person. And her beautiful kids! I just love Maria’s smiles and Bianca’s wide-eyed stares :)
Hazel was talking non stop about them when we went home. Thanks, Raq! :D See you again soon!

From me with love

Thursday, February 19th, 2009

Sometimes I feel guilty that I don’t have much time for my close friends. That’s why I send them a shoutout from time to time. Mostly through an email or those free love cards that you can find at Net Fun Cards. There are times when they send a text message and I am too busy, I won’t be able to send them a reply. I feel guilty every time that happens. But there are just days when schedule was really bad.

If you are like me and would like to send your friends some love, go to NetFunCards.com and choose a love card to send to a friend. You just never know when one needs it.
