My cousin, Ianne Nicole, had her 7th birthday party at Jollibee Luneta Park. She was asked to choose between a trip to Bangkok or a birthday party. She chose the latter so she can celebrate her 7th year here on earth with her friends and numerous cousins.

It was a lot of fun, especially for Hazel. The theme of the party was the Bratz dolls. And my aunt and her husband got 5 Jollibee mascots to make an appearance: Jollibee, Hetty, Twirlie, Poppo and Yum.

I worked for a call center company before. The company had two changes in the highest position. Both expats are golf enthusiasts. Since I worked closely with both expats, it is but natural that I got to know more about golf.
I think this is a sport enjoyed by executives. I even had bosses before who are golf players. I remember a company director who once told us that the way to enjoy life is for someone to work a couple of hours and to take a break to enjoy the day by playing golf. I didn’t think it was a really good advice but it stuck to me because I’m seeing a lot of executives do that.
If you are a golf enthusiasts like my past bosses, this Golf shop is for you. Go to GolfAkademie-GMBH.de now. This company is the biggest German golf shop that offers brand names in the world of golf.
It is really great that I found a web site like this because an uncle is thinking of celebrating his 50th birthday with his close buddies. And you guess it right! Playing golf! He’s thinking of bringing six of his closest friends to a golf resort. I think he saw one while surfing the net and he asked around about it. Turned out the resort has a good reputation among golfers because of the expanse of golf courses they have in it. But he’s still checking out some things…
This Golfshop also offers news holidays and all other information on golf. Looking for Golf Mode? You can find it here! I even found out that if a golfer is thinking of a holiday with his buddies like my uncle, this web site has enough information regarding it.
So if you are a golf enthusiasts, visit GolfAkademie-GMBH.de now for more information.

It was really inspiring to see so many people and establishments participated in last night’s Earth Hour. I was at the mall that time, checking if I can squeeze in a facial after watching a movie. My friend was checking out treatments for acne while I was still talking to the people behind the salon to, maybe, squeeze me in even for a foot spa. Unfortunately, since it’s almost closing time for some establishments, I was not accommodated anymore. Oh well, some other time. We just enjoyed the candle-lit coffee break my friend and I had instead.

Ang bilis ko talaga magsawa sa mga blog themes ko. As in! Pero as I’ve promised myself when I had this blog’s theme customized, I won’t be changing until it reaches a year. I will stick to it. If I can hehe
***
Will you or won’t you: bunjee jump? Yes! If I don’t die from fear first hehe… ride in a hot air balloon? Absolutely! Been wanting to do this talaga but the price is not worth it… go white water rafting? Would love to!
I have never been an adventurous person. Pasumpung-sumpong lang. Like that one time I went to Batangas City all by myself. I don’t do that stuff normally. Di bale if I was able to go there before na. But for me to go to a place all alone for the first time, that’s adventure for me already. I always play it safe. I always keep in mind that I am the eldest and that my family’s relying on me. I shouldn’t put myself in too much risk.
Or maybe I’m just pretty scared talaga ha-ha!

What colour are your toenails painted? Plum. It looks black from afar but when you look at it, it’s really plum. It will change tomorrow or by Sunday when I go for a foot spa.
I don’t paint my fingernails, or even grow it long. I am not comfortable with it.

It’s Earth Hour tonight at 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM here in the Philippines. Turn off your lights even for that hour and let us do our share in preserving the planet we live in.

Happy weekend everyone!

I will be meeting up with two of my best girl friends tomorrow for a late night dinner. We see each other regularly. But it’s been a while that we had dinner together. I am sure that it will be loaded with whatever’s happening around, in our lives as well as to the people we know.
When the three of us are together, don’t expect to understand what we’re talking about. It jumps from one topic to another. If you hear us talking about our salaries and at the same breath you heard something about the peace process, don’t be surprised. It’s not related but are actually two topics that we can mold together to form one. Credit card deals to the latest dance craze to hit the metro. The latest fashion to a common friend we haven’t heard from in a while. That’s how we talk. Probably born out of the years we’ve been friends. Since second year high school. 17 years and counting.
I will tell you more about our late night dinner by Sunday. Remember, it’s Earth Hour tomorrow. If you can, participate
It won’t do you harm. In fact, it will give you the opportunity to help our planet.
Happy weekend!

I haven’t updated here in more than a week. That’s the longest time this blog has gone without any updates :D
Anyway, I am finally free of the flu and cough virus my sister “gave” me. Almost. I have never drank so much water in my whole life. I think I drank gallons for the past week alone. It really does wonder to your body. Kaya lang it also felt like I was having withdrawal symptoms. I felt weak and less alert than usual. Always sleepy. More than the usual. Kasi naman I am a coffee-drinker talaga. Plus, I love drinking flavored drinks. When I caught the flu (with matching cough on the side), I thought of giving up my flavored drinks and anything with caffeine in it for a while. I didn’t want to catch a cold as well. Baka magka-sore throat pa!
I mostly slept early for a week. I refrained from reading to rest my eyes, too. I wasn’t able to update even my other blogs because even though I have so many things to write about, I couldn’t string two words to save my life. Ngayon, back to normal na uli ang utak ko
Back to… happy blogging!

I normally don’t get a haircut until I am already irritated with my hair. But since it’s summer, I get my hair cut regularly. That would mean once a month. Tomorrow, I am off to the salon to get a haircut from my favorite hairstylist. I will also have a facial and a foot spa. Yey!
Other than that, the usual updates, medyo mabagal ako these past few days.
Sana naman itong gabi medyo makarami ako. Kailangang isipin ko na lang si blogger-friend na super sipag naman talaga! Kakainggit!
:D
Anyway, I am still hoping for a productive week. Or at least a more positive week for me
Happy Monday!

Yong, our cousin, has been asking us what we want for his next balikbayan box. Of course, my brother, James, asked for an xbox 360. I told Yong that he need not bother for us girls. He’ll be sending something for the boys, though. I will just subsidize the xbox 360 for my brother. For my dad, I believe he’ll be sending a shirt and something else. I hope it’s not cigarettes.

Last week we watched Sleepers again. This movie really touched my heart. When I watched this back in college, I had my youngest brother in mind the whole time. What if this happens to my brother? What if an innocent fun turned out wrong? What if a naughty bet will lead to something gruesome? I had so many fears lurking in my mind after watching that great movie. Whenever I see or hear about New York Yankees tickets, I always remember the character of Robert de Niro lying on stand just to get the two main characters our of the jail time. I remember John’s (the youngest of the four main characters) eyes, still innocent-looking despite the horrors that lay underneath it. If you have a young teenager boy with you and you happen to watch this movie or read the book, you’ll have fears of it happening to him afterwards. Sigh.

I definitely need diet pills now! I am not denying it but I am lackadaisical when it comes to acting on it. I do not exercise regularly these days. I wake up early but I go to work right away. I don’t run like Raquel. I do brisk walking instead. I need to cut my rice intake, of course. This has been my problem ever since. I cannot eat a meal without rice. But hopefully, in a few weeks, I will be able to adjust. And weight loss follows.

A few minutes ago, I was looking at old photos of the family during summer vacations. One thing that stood out was we all looked pale even when our playmates, cousins, friends and other people around us were tanned. When we were kids, my mom didn’t like us going to the beach. This time around, now we’re older, I want us to enjoy our summer vacations away from home. My sister’s boyfriend will be using a car of their own. He’ll just get an auto insurance for it first and will be off to compare auto insurance quotes that he got from their insurance agent. Then, we’re off to the beach! Yay!

I have a friend who is overly conscious about her face. She gets regular facials. Wart and white head removals once a month (even when she has none). She buys a lot of beauty products that will keep her face wrinkle-free as much as possible. Like these cold creams and eye cream for eyebags and all that. I can’t actually keep up with the many beauty products on her dresser. Does it work? I think so. She still looks like she’s in her early 20s until now. She’s already 31.

Nowadays, I rarely watch movies at the cinema. Unless it is a really good movie, I just wait for it to come out in DVD, most especially if it’s a Tagalog movie. There are exceptions, of course. Friends and my sister, Grace, have been talking about A Very Special Love when it was shown last year. The movie is a Sarah Geronimo-John Lloyd Cruz starrer and was a smash hit in the box office. It was a romantic comedy. Sarah and John Lloyd had great chemistry. The movie was funny and my friends and my sister went home smiling.
A follow-up to it, You Changed My Life, was shown a few weeks ago. It still stars Sarah and John Lloyd and follows the love story between the two, a continuation of the first movie. I was not able to watch the first movie on the big screen. But this one I thought of watching. And so I did. Last Friday, I went to the cinema with Hazel and my sister, Ming. This was not our goal, to watch the movie. We went to the mall primarily to buy things for my grandma. But then we checked out the screenings and we found one that fit our sched for the day.
It was worth it! The movie was funny, cheesy, corny and feel good! I love it! You’d get annoyed with the “Bebe Ko” ringtone but then you’ll let it go because you’d be entertained from start to finish.
Let me tell you this. I am not a big fan of Tagalog movies. I watched a handful that I liked. American Adobo. Crying Ladies. That first Regine Velasquez-Aga Muhlach movie. Got To Believe. There are more that I can’t recall at the moment. I just hate the copy-cat syndrome that most movie companies in the country have. Copying plots from Hollywood movies. The same old formula of rich boy-poor girl against all odds. Too mushy, with lots of sampalan. And the big deal kissing or love scenes… aargh! Annoys the hell out of you, really.
Anyway, You Changed My Life is a feel good movie. Enough for an afternoon when you don’t want to think about anything else. When you just want to laugh at corny scenes or cringe at cheesy lines. Sarah and John Lloyd really made our day!

I rarely get to talk to this friend of mine, an old co-worker who was also a mentor of sorts. I was surprised that she went online a couple of nights ago. She was chatting with her sister who’s in London and I happen to log in to my account. So we chatted about life in general. She’s still working for the company I used to work for, where I met her. She was not exactly my superior but she’s more senior than me, age-wise and position-wise. She’s 58 years old now, according to her and is considering an early retirement. Our old boss is currently offering great retirement packages for employees who are nearing 60. She said that since she still has a teenager son with whom she wants to spend more time with, she is seriously considering availing of the package.
She’s been looking into retirement living for a year now. Her husband is already 66 years old and they both want a place where they can spend their senior years in quiet. She told me about Retirement Living Now, a web site she found that has so much information on retirement. News about it, retirement homes, financial help for seniors who cannot afford it, and so much more. She’s really doing her research and would want to find a place where her whole family can be comfortable. She will surely receive a sizable amount from the retirement package and her husband has saved more than enough and will get a retirement package from three insurance policies.
If you are looking for information on retirement living like her, go to RetirementLivingNow.com and know more about it.

I remember one moment when my close friend, Lynn, and I were talking about the future. Lynn was my classmate in Accountancy. I told her that I intend to work my way up the ladder and be a chief finance officer of a multinational firm when I turn 30. I wanted to work in New York City. Work for one of the Big Four in public audit. Then get a higher position after becoming an audit manager. Enjoy New York Holidays in between. All part of the grand dreams of a college student.
But only Lynn made it. I lost interest in being a corporate slave after only ten years of working. I lost interest plain and simple. What remained is my interest in experiencing Holidays New York style! Lynn, who now works for KPMG, has been inviting me for years now to go to New York and she’ll take care of everything. She found Letsgo2, a company who will let you create a flight and hotel package by yourself so you can choose which will fit your budget. Letsgo2 will then work directly with airline and hotel partners so you will get the package you want.
Holidays to New York has never been more affordable, said Lynn. Now I can enjoy a New York vacation even if I am not working there.
If you are looking for ways to enjoy holidays in New York like I will, go to New-York-LetsGo2.com now!

Have you noticed that it is easier and so much more inspiring to go through your daily life when you are looking forward to something? I feel that way. A week will pass by in a blur if I am looking forward to something on the weekend. I don’t know, maybe it’s just me but I function better that way.
Lately, there’s nothing to look forward to. Probably the reason why I didn’t write that much. I even finished all the good books I have on my reader. Fortunately, next week will be loaded with things to do out of the house. At least that’s something.
That’s me for today
Happy Sunday everyone!

If there is one person in this world who would like to rival former First Lady Imelda Marcos, that would be my sister’s friend, Abby. My sister was over in her new condo unit near the metrorail and she said that the unit has more shoes in it than anything else. It’s supposed to be a 2-bedroom unit but since the other room was made into a walk-in closet, half of which is filled with hundreds of pairs of shoes, it seemed smaller than it actually is. According to my sister, she found so many brands and kinds of shoes there, including Dansko shoes and clogs, than she’s ever seen in her entire shopping life. Imeldific!
I cannot imagine having that many shoes. Personally, I find it impractical to have so many shoes some of which you can’t even use. I also have this habit of wearing the same pair again and again until it becomes so worn I have no choice left but to throw it away.
If you are into shoes like Abby, you need not search high and low in different malls and online stores for a pair or a brand you can’t find. Just go to What A Pair! This is a web site where you can find women’s footwear of every shape, brand and kind. Looking for Dansko Shoes? You can find it at What A Pair!
Just go to WhatAPair.com and shop by brand or by kind of shoe you are looking for. You can find winter boots, ballet shoes, vegan shoes. Shoe brands like Alegria, Crocs and even Dansko Clogs! Visit the site now and shop for that pair of shoes you like!
