I feel like reflecting.
I am a person who’s easy to please. In fact, a delicious meal can make me happy. A good book, a cup of hot coffee, a sweet smile or a hug from Hazel, a couple of opps… even a trip to the mall with my dad and my siblings can bring me happiness. I need not have tons of money to find joy in life. I just need to have enough to give them what they need. I’d be content with that.

A good book and a cup of hot coffee makes me happy.
Anyway, I haven’t been sleeping much for days now. Working hard because it will be tuition time once again by July, which is tomorrow already. I am really tired. My head’s aching, pounding actually. But since I am doing this for the family, I know that I will find the energy to continue working harder.
I need lots of caffeine to keep me awake!
Happy Tuesday people!

It’ll be Sophie‘s 1st birthday party next week! As early as a few months ago, I already got the invitation from my super girl friend, Tim, not to be absent on Sophie’s birthday which will be held at a Jollibee branch. Jollibee party si Sophie!
Of course, Hazel will be tagging along as it’s a children’s party. Do you know that Hazel’s been practicing that longest breath contest already?
Happy birthday, Sophieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
I just hope she won’t feel shy when we’re already there :D
Right now, I am thinking of a gift for my super cute goddaughter. May maisip sana akong maganda hehe
Can’t wait for the 10th to come!

I’ve seen a man at the mall suffering from what I can think of as a severe case of acne. His face appears swollen from afar. But when you see him face up, you’d recognize the acne covering almost his whole face. I almost told him to get Acnetix. Might help him get rid of his acne.
So many people are suffering from inferiority complex because of their skin problems. Someone I know, for a time, kept covering the lower half of her face with a hanky to hide her acne problems. Now that there’s an available solution to this, why not try it and solve the skin problem once and for all, right?

A dear family friend will be going away for a while for an extended vacation with his wife. He has been serving the government for the past three decades now and he is thinking that now is the time for him to take a vacation and get to enjoy the fruits of his hard work. As a going away gift, my dad bought satellite radios for him and his wife. Their three children, all professionals now, will be throwing away a going away party for them tonight and we will be attending it.
Of all the people I know, this person deserves the extended vacation with his wife more than anybody else. I know how hard he’s work all his life to be able to provide for his family. He’s sent his kids to good schools and have been there for each and everyone of them no matter how hectic his schedule was.

It’s Monday once again! Time flies so fast! Tomorrow is the end of June. The other half of the year will start the next day after that. Whew! Before we know it, the holiday season is upon us again.
For this week, I have three to-dos.
Finish Barely Breathing. Dapat!
Complete those pending and create another acct.
Finish watching Trueblood Season 1 hehe
Easy to complete. The first two is the most important things to finish this week. The last one can even be carried over to next week.
Happy Monday everyone!

My friend and I were talking the other day. She’s been a former staff of mine in a graphics company where we worked for a year. We became fast friends and kept in touch through the years. She was telling me that her mom is now retired from working in a local government agency because of a disability. The thing is, she needs to help her mom get her disability benefits but can’t do so because of work. I told her that Allsup can help her mom get her disability insurance and is almost guaranteed to succeed considering their 98% success rate.
Disability benefits is very important especially to those people who have been sidelined by disability. I know that a neighbor was able to get on with his life with the insurance that he got from being disabled.

Birthday Party Invitations
It is always exciting to receive party invitations. Two important persons in my life, friends from way back, are expecting their first kids within the year. Both are being given a baby shower by their friends and love ones. I am in-charge with the Invitations Baby Shower and I found the one I like at one web site which is really great because they also carry unique birthday invitations that I need for Hazel’s 4th birthday celebration.
CardsShoppe.com can give you the exclusive invitations you require. Expect an invitation like no other. What kind of invitation cards do you need? Cards Shoppe has it! Baby shower, birthday invitations… you name it! No need to go to the actual store to have an invitation done for you. All you need to have is your computer and internet connection and you’re all set to order the invitation cards you require. Choose a design you like and personalize it. You can even choose to upload a photo of your choice. You will find that ordering party invitations has never been this easy.
Now, I need not alter my routine just to make sure I am on top of the task given to me by my friend. I’ll make sure that I give my best in being the best baby shower party invitation maker!

I have so many things that I need to do. That’s why my pile of Books To Read is as high as me now. There are just so many books that I want to read! So many good books that need my attention hehe
I’ve been a reader for as long as I can remember. When I was in my teens, I remember being so envious of my cousins who had so much novels in their rooms. We couldn’t afford to buy those things before because of financial constraints. That’s why when I started working, the ultimate gift I could give myself every payday was, and still is, a freshly bought paperback. There was even a time that I bought a whole series in a day.
Right now, I am not yet done re-reading Angels and Demons. I am also starting with the Charlaine Harris Southern Vampire series. The latter I am reading because of Trueblood
So many good books, so little time…

I don’t like doing household chores that much. You can make me wash the dishes but only if I need to think. For some reason, I can think more clearly when I am washing the dishes. You can make me cook but only to fry things. You can make me clean the house but only when I am in the mood. You get the drift…
But I love being at home. I love buying things to make the home more cozy and livable, like the glass tiles I bought for the bathroom. I love buying useful things for the kitchen.
Working at home for two years now has made me more domesticated than before.

It must be hard living in the olden days, when women could only wear dresses and skirts. Imagine, being in breeches could be a cause for scandal already! You couldn’t even go out alone or with a male friend, lest you be cast as an easy woman.
Lucky we are born in this generation. We can do pretty much whatever we want as long as we are not violating the law. You can even wear clothing that can barely cover your essentials and no one’s going to cast a stone at you. You can even live with your male friend, be in a platonic relationship with him, and it’ll be okay.
I may love reading historical romance novels but I still prefer to be born in this age.

I am always in awe with the latest in technology and modern science. Imagine, there are supplements we can now take to boost our immune system, to make us slimmer, to aid our quest for a healthier body. You can even get the best HGH supplements if you want to. There are just so many options nowadays with the advent of modern science.
I just hope that we also learn to regulate our intake of all of these otherwise we might end up harmed more than benefited by it.

The only person in the family who curses is my dad. We don’t really utter “bad words” unless we’re driven to it. Like we’re fuming mad about something. But then, Hazel’s there to remind us that it’s bad to utter those words. When she hears someone curse, she’ll immediately say “Bad ‘yon!” to that person. So who wouldn’t be reminded not to curse, right?
My uncle’s wife went to our house to talk to me about computers. They’re planning to buy either a desktop or a laptop for their kids. Talks turned to gossip and she said “tanga” (stupid) referring to a local celebrity who’s madly in love with an older woman. Hazel immediately told my aunt that “Bad ‘yon! Bad ‘yon, di ba?” and we hid our laughter.
Oo nga naman. Bad kasi ‘yon! Hahaha

Last Monday, my sister and I along with Hazel went grocery shopping. I told myself that I will limit the number of grocery items to the necessities only and will not go over budget this time around. I always find myself buying so many things for the kitchen that I go beyond my grocery budget every single time I go to the supermarket.
But guess what? I still went beyond my budget! Not because I bought unnecessary things. It’s because prices of commodities have gone up! Or maybe I didn’t notice it the last time? I was shocked to find that so many of the usual things I buy for the pantry are now more expensive than before. Even the disposable diapers are just too costly now. We buy one for Hazel for when she goes to sleep at night and one for my grandma (incontinence).
It’s really time for me to earn more. Time to make that big decision tonight!

It pays to know the right people. I have friends in different business industries. I got to know them in the course of my work. Some, I keep in touch with until now that I’m no longer in the corporate world. Some, I call from time to time to check on things. One of those people I know managed to hook me up with an insurance agent who gave me a really nice deal on an auto insurance that my cousin needs.
There was also one instance where another cousin who had a construction business needed help with their tax problems. I was able to talk to someone I know from the tax agency and I was able to get the person’s help to clear my cousin’s tax problems.
It really does pay to know the right people, don’t you think?

I have problems with my laptop. Thank goodness I bought a desktop a few months after I bought the laptop, so I have an alternative to use while the latter was acting up. I tried to do a defrag of my laptop as well as a full virus and spyware scan. Everything seems fine. I am using it right now, testing if it will slow down again.
And it seems I really need to have my laptop reformatted. It really slows down after an hour or so of using it. I think a virus managed to slip past my AVG. My friend told me that I should use another anti-virus because according to an IT expert she knows, AVG is the low quality kind. I don’t know but I am happy with this AV of mine until this problem with my laptop.
Oh well, time to go to Tim’s house and ask a favor from her brother-in-law hehe

Sleep is such a luxury to me these days. My brother is already in college and expenses have been steadily increasing for us. I have to earn more than usual so I am awake most of the time, working hard to earn more than enough for us. I am supporting my brother’s college education as well as most expenses at home. I’m not complaining. Everything’s fine with me. Because in turn, my family’s been very supportive of me every step of the way.
Anyway, that’s why sleep has been scarce for me lately. I’ve been thinking of replacing my old bed with a sleep number bed because according to my friend, this one’s sooo much better! It will really be a good sleeping experience for me. Without the backaches and neck cramps and all that.
I don’t fall asleep easily. I always have to read a book first because my mind won’t stop running. So my siblings know that when I do fall asleep, they should never wake me up if it’s not really important. Otherwise, they’ll see a monster waking up from hybernation.

My sister, Grace, who teaches in a Chinese school in Manila has one frustration in life. That’s to play piano. She’s always wanted to learn how to play but with her hectic schedule, it’s just not possible for now. She just might keel over from too much work and other stuff she’s involved in at the moment.
You see, my sister has this tendency to take on so many things all at once. There was even a time in the past year that she hardly ever slept because of her dedication to her work. She’d have so many on her plate that she got sick for a time early this year. When I accompanied her for a medical check-up, the doctor ruled it was overfatigue. She’s so stressed out from work that it’s manifesting in so many ways in her body. Imagine, the doctor advised her to kick off her shoes and relax for at least a month. Watch movies, have fun with friends, go out of town.
Thus, playing the piano will have to take a backseat for now. Soon, when her load becomes lighter.

As always, when I hear about a death, I feel extremely saddened for those love ones left behind. Just like in the case of Michael Jackson’s death. He left three kids behind. Aged 7, 11 and 12, his kids are said to be taken cared of by Michael’s mom, Katherine, for the meantime.
I can say that my siblings and I are “lucky” my mom passed away when we are already old enough to take care of ourselves. I don’t think the kids Michael will be leaving behind can already take care of themselves, despite the fact that a family lawyer told the press that the kids are well-trained. They’ve known only one parent and have been with him all their lives. Who would replace him?
Life can be cruel at times. Death brings so much grief in a person’s life, sometimes even causing trauma that will last for years and years.
I hope that the kids will be taken in by a relative who would really love them and care for them with or without the Jacko’s money. And I hope Katherine is the one.

I feel like all I do these days is go to sleep. I am so darn sleepy all the time! Even with the hot weather, you can find me in deep slumber. I also don’t feel like writing that much for almost a week now. Pasumpung-sumpong. That’s why you seldom see updates these days. Hay.
I think I need to tinker with a blog’s theme for some inspiration

I know that a friend of mine who recently got married is planning to take his wife to a vacation abroad. It will be a honeymoon of sorts for them because they didn’t get a proper one due to schedule problems.
