I don’t like doing household chores that much. You can make me wash the dishes but only if I need to think. For some reason, I can think more clearly when I am washing the dishes. You can make me cook but only to fry things. You can make me clean the house but only when I am in the mood. You get the drift…
But I love being at home. I love buying things to make the home more cozy and livable, like the glass tiles I bought for the bathroom. I love buying useful things for the kitchen.
Working at home for two years now has made me more domesticated than before.

It must be hard living in the olden days, when women could only wear dresses and skirts. Imagine, being in breeches could be a cause for scandal already! You couldn’t even go out alone or with a male friend, lest you be cast as an easy woman.
Lucky we are born in this generation. We can do pretty much whatever we want as long as we are not violating the law. You can even wear clothing that can barely cover your essentials and no one’s going to cast a stone at you. You can even live with your male friend, be in a platonic relationship with him, and it’ll be okay.
I may love reading historical romance novels but I still prefer to be born in this age.

I am always in awe with the latest in technology and modern science. Imagine, there are supplements we can now take to boost our immune system, to make us slimmer, to aid our quest for a healthier body. You can even get the best HGH supplements if you want to. There are just so many options nowadays with the advent of modern science.
I just hope that we also learn to regulate our intake of all of these otherwise we might end up harmed more than benefited by it.

The only person in the family who curses is my dad. We don’t really utter “bad words” unless we’re driven to it. Like we’re fuming mad about something. But then, Hazel’s there to remind us that it’s bad to utter those words. When she hears someone curse, she’ll immediately say “Bad ‘yon!” to that person. So who wouldn’t be reminded not to curse, right?
My uncle’s wife went to our house to talk to me about computers. They’re planning to buy either a desktop or a laptop for their kids. Talks turned to gossip and she said “tanga” (stupid) referring to a local celebrity who’s madly in love with an older woman. Hazel immediately told my aunt that “Bad ‘yon! Bad ‘yon, di ba?” and we hid our laughter.
Oo nga naman. Bad kasi ‘yon! Hahaha

Last Monday, my sister and I along with Hazel went grocery shopping. I told myself that I will limit the number of grocery items to the necessities only and will not go over budget this time around. I always find myself buying so many things for the kitchen that I go beyond my grocery budget every single time I go to the supermarket.
But guess what? I still went beyond my budget! Not because I bought unnecessary things. It’s because prices of commodities have gone up! Or maybe I didn’t notice it the last time? I was shocked to find that so many of the usual things I buy for the pantry are now more expensive than before. Even the disposable diapers are just too costly now. We buy one for Hazel for when she goes to sleep at night and one for my grandma (incontinence).
It’s really time for me to earn more. Time to make that big decision tonight!

It pays to know the right people. I have friends in different business industries. I got to know them in the course of my work. Some, I keep in touch with until now that I’m no longer in the corporate world. Some, I call from time to time to check on things. One of those people I know managed to hook me up with an insurance agent who gave me a really nice deal on an auto insurance that my cousin needs.
There was also one instance where another cousin who had a construction business needed help with their tax problems. I was able to talk to someone I know from the tax agency and I was able to get the person’s help to clear my cousin’s tax problems.
It really does pay to know the right people, don’t you think?

I have problems with my laptop. Thank goodness I bought a desktop a few months after I bought the laptop, so I have an alternative to use while the latter was acting up. I tried to do a defrag of my laptop as well as a full virus and spyware scan. Everything seems fine. I am using it right now, testing if it will slow down again.
And it seems I really need to have my laptop reformatted. It really slows down after an hour or so of using it. I think a virus managed to slip past my AVG. My friend told me that I should use another anti-virus because according to an IT expert she knows, AVG is the low quality kind. I don’t know but I am happy with this AV of mine until this problem with my laptop.
Oh well, time to go to Tim’s house and ask a favor from her brother-in-law hehe

Sleep is such a luxury to me these days. My brother is already in college and expenses have been steadily increasing for us. I have to earn more than usual so I am awake most of the time, working hard to earn more than enough for us. I am supporting my brother’s college education as well as most expenses at home. I’m not complaining. Everything’s fine with me. Because in turn, my family’s been very supportive of me every step of the way.
Anyway, that’s why sleep has been scarce for me lately. I’ve been thinking of replacing my old bed with a sleep number bed because according to my friend, this one’s sooo much better! It will really be a good sleeping experience for me. Without the backaches and neck cramps and all that.
I don’t fall asleep easily. I always have to read a book first because my mind won’t stop running. So my siblings know that when I do fall asleep, they should never wake me up if it’s not really important. Otherwise, they’ll see a monster waking up from hybernation.
