Grateful

Monday, November 30th, 2009

There’s a sale of area rugs at the store nearby. I told my aunt about it because I know she’d be interested considering they are renovating their new house as well as part of their recruitment office.

I help relatives who are close to me in any way I can. If I can direct them to cheaper products they need, then I do so. If they need help with their company books, I do it for free. Anything for as long as I can do it. That’s because there were times that I was the recipient of their help. I never forget those times.

Celebrity blogger

Monday, November 30th, 2009

A local celebrity is running a fairly new blog. This early, traffic is really, really good. In fact, he’s looking to get a server of his own, a rackmount perhaps, because his site crashed just after three days. Heavy traffic. Just imagine if a lot of people are already going back and forth in his blog.

That’s the difference between a celebrity blogger versus a regular blogger like you and me. The celebrity blogger can spew garbage and people will still visit his/her blog just to check if there’s something juicy going on. Whereas a regular blogger like you and me can blog about so many interesting things and still get little to no traffic. Even in the world wide web, life’s not fair.

New laptop units

Monday, November 30th, 2009

Tim and I are always talking about laptops. Both our units died out on us already and since we have this weird thing where we can write and think clearly when using our laptops, we really need to buy new ones as soon as possible.

I am checking out different brands. I read reviews and forward some interesting ones to Tim. And then we discuss. We plan on buying new units anytime now. It’s just a matter of deciding on which brand and model will give us our money’s worth.

For health reasons…

Monday, November 30th, 2009

I am actually open to trying out anything that can help me lose weight. There’s adipex diet pills, or going back to the gym, running two blocks every morning, slimming tea… It is essential that I lose weight even a little. It’s part of the plan for next year. It would be hard to go back still looking like this.

If and when the plans for next year won’t push through, I still would like to lose weight. For health reasons…

Affordable curriculum online

Friday, November 27th, 2009

More and more parents are homeschooling their kids. For one reason or another, they feel that they can give them the educational support their kids need. Of course, the parents can’t just formulate what they will teach their kids. They still have to follow certain guidelines set by the local education department of the government. Locally, I know a couple of kids being homeschooled by their parents and one by a governess. And all those kids are doing good. They follow a curriculum set by a local school. The thing is, I know that they have paid quite a premium for the curriculum they got.

If you want an affordable one, get a curriculum online from Global Student Network. They have a curriculum that is targeted for the homeschool student. I know that there was a certain case of bullying in a local school that scared a neighbor. Now that her kid is ready to go to school, she is thinking of homeschooling her instead. I will tell her about Global Student Network and how she can be guided with regards the education of her kid.

If you are interested, too, go to GlobalStudentNetwork.com or call their toll free number at (866) 446-9963 now.

Harping about changes

Friday, November 27th, 2009

You might have noticed that I kept on harping about some changes that will be happening to me by next year. The reason why I do that is to motivate myself to follow through my decision. Otherwise, if I keep quiet about it, I might get cold feet and back out again.

Do I really need to make a change? Yes, I do. I need to. I am praying it is the right decision because I don’t feel like going back. Although with the income I am making now, it is impossible to get the things I want out of life…

Seize every opportunity

Friday, November 27th, 2009

I seize every opportunity that I am feeling masipag. When I do, I make a list of the things needed to be done and I don’t stop until I am really tired and about to keel over. Because it’s rare these days that I feel inspired enough to work myself to death. Not because of anything else ha. I just feel lazy most days. It’s the holiday spirit kasi hehe

So today, I am working really hard tinkering with my cpanel. I am just arranging things for next year. Might be less time blogging for me since I just might go back to join the rat race once more. Scary!

Friday, November 27th, 2009

StopCaring

Today, I don’t care anymore. I look at it and I think the hell with it! It just takes too much effort from my part when I care. I think and I doubt. I think and bad thoughts creep in. I’d rather not think and care that way I won’t think bad thoughts and doubts won’t get stuck in my mind, right?

So today, I will stop caring. It’s just not worth it.

Nothing scares me…

Friday, November 27th, 2009

Nothing scares me more than being sick, really sick. On both sides of our family, there’s history of people dying of cancer. Leukemia, ovarian cancer, breast cancer, even cancer of the bones. It scares the hell out of me when I think that one of us might have it in a few years.

This might sound morbid for some but I do believe I won’t grow really old. Might be lucky for me to reach 60. With my unhealthy lifestyle and the history of sickness on both sides of the family… plus, there’s just this premonition, if you must, that I have. I just know.

And that scares the hell out of me. Can’t help but think about it from time to time. When I feel aches and pains. But when it goes away, then I’m back to being positive and thinking of a long life ahead.

Getting my MBA degree

Friday, November 27th, 2009

I need to improve myself for next year’s plans. Since I have my schedule to work around with I just might get my masters degree online. Yes, I am thinking of getting my MBA already. Whereas before I feel like I don’t need it anymore, I feel that with the change of plans, I need it more than ever.

I am reading information about Capella University, an accredited and fully online university. It is a leading provider of masters and PhD degrees online. I read that they have released their latest Inside Online Education podcast and I am interested to know more about what they have to say.

Capella University is targeting working adults, those people tied to their day jobs that they can’t pursue a higher education. Now, getting a post graduate degree is not far-fetched anymore. Visit www.Capella.edu for more information on the degrees they offer.

Struggling to make ends meet

Friday, November 27th, 2009

My heart goes out to those people who are struggling to make ends meet. I’ve been there so many times in the past, especially during that time when all my sisters were still in school. There were paydays when it felt like the money I earned for that pay period would just kiss my hand goodbye. There were even paydays when it wasn’t enough and I had to find a kind soul to lend me some money just to make ends meet. Those days I felt like a beggar groveling for a piece of bread.

I am really thankful that I have passed all that. Of course, there are days that I still feel unsure about the state of my finances. But it’s now manageable compared to the past.

I don’t want to ever go back to that situation where it’s always hand to mouth. I pray that whoever’s in that situation right now will find the will to continue on and surpass it. And will have a future free of worries financially.

Secret dream of mine…

Thursday, November 26th, 2009

Let me tell you my secret dream (which when I finally reveal here won’t be a secret no more)… I wanted (and still do want) to work for 105.1 Crossover. You know, that radio station that features smooth jazz and rhythm & blues music. I love that radio station! It’s located just a few blocks away. And I always see it when I was still working that side of the town.

I fancy myself being a disc jockey. No, not the likes that you hear at those local stations spewing nonsense daily. Or the better radio stations like RX, TM or Wave. If you listen to Crossover, you’d know DJs don’t really talk that much. I like that. I just want to work with all those songs that I love listening to over and over again.

There’s a longer version of this secret dream of mine. It’s tied to college life but I won’t bore you with the details. Suffice it to say that I harbored and still do actually a dream of becoming a Crossover DJ.

Do you find it weird that I only have a specific radio station in mind? Oh, I also want to meet Dave Koz and he’s somewhat tied to the station…

Gaining momentum

happy-girl-on-the-beach

Yes! I am gaining momentum now. I have been struggling for days, not being able to finish anything because of this lethargy cloaked over me. Hirap labanan! Today, I was able to finish some tasks na.

This is the problem with me. If I want something, I can be paralyzed by the need to have it. I can’t focus on anything else because I am focused on that something I can’t have right away. Ganon ako talaga. Thank God I am able to fight this crazy longing for that something. Slowly but surely is the right away…

Okay, back to work muna!

Beauty's her field of choice

Thursday, November 19th, 2009

The Regency Beauty Cosmetology School is the one that my friend wants to go to. She feels like she’s really good when it comes to anything that can make a person beautiful so she wants to get into that field. Ever since I’ve known her, she’s always cutting someone else’s hair, or applying make up on someone, or glamming up herself. This might be her calling.

If you feel the “call”, too, go to RegencyBeauty.com and get into one of the fastest expanding beauty schools in the US. With close to 30 campuses across nine states, you are sure to find one nearest you. They have been applying the technique of on-the-class training by offering discounted salon services being administered by the students with the supervision of the faculty people. Go to the web site now to find out more.

Flower girl =)

Hazel

Hazel will be a flower girl in my friend’s wedding by next week. She’s excited because her gown is really beautiful. She feels like a little princess when she tried it on. We even took some photos of her but I thought I will just post the photos on the wedding day.

She’s growing up so fast. She’s shy in front of other people at first but give her a few minutes to adjust and you will see a very active little girl who loves to sing, dance, and strike a pose!

Edible

Thursday, November 19th, 2009

food
I easily get enticed by anything looking edible and delicious. And there are a lot of edible-looking things around right now. So when we go to the mall, I make sure to stir away from restaurants and other food establishments. Or else I will be tempted to try one, eat a lot and spend unnecessarily.

Such is the story of my life these days. Food, FB and a lot of personal down time. Might be a preparation for next year, huh?!

I am hungry right this very minute. Thank goodness for my brother who caters to my food cravings early in the morning ;)
