2009 is a so-so year for me. Good but it could have been better. I didn’t work that hard unlike in the past two years. I didn’t take advantage of ALL the opportunities presented to me. I chose some and was content with that. This coming year, work harder is what I need to do. I will be more aggressive like what I did in 2007. Must step up for the new house…

My cousin loves dogs. He has two at home now. It used to be four but two already died of old age. He cried over those two. He wants more dogs but with less attachment for now. He is thinking of taking advantage of the pet franchise opportunity that he learned from a friend. He is thinking of opening a pet shop that is mostly centered on dogs.
I was talking to him over the weekend. We are both of the same mind that 2010 should be a year for us to earn more and save up. No more unnecessary expenditures for the coming year. We have grand plans so we need funds to see it through.

We will be missing our goof ball for two days. Hazel is off to Pangasinan with her dad tonight. It’s very rare that I don’t see her falling asleep. I’m like the mother hen worrying if she’ll have a better place to sleep at. And what she’ll eat…
Here’s our goof ball playing with her skirt, pretending to be a nun hehehe

She’ll be back by the 30th, hopefully. Will miss her a lot!

Hans is looking for a dash kit and grills. He wants to make his old Hyundai car looking hot as a come on to the lady he likes. He wants his old car to look shiny and new so he is checking the hyundai accessories at CARiD.
He actually doesn’t have much time to check out accessories since he is busy with work. But the convenience of having an internet connection is that he can browse websites like CARiD.com and easily find the accessories he wants for his car. And then he can have the ones he chose and paid for delivered straight to his garage.
Looking for car accessories? Go to CARiD.com now!

It’s been a hectic weekend for me. The past week as well. There were a lot of trips to the mall. Meeting with friends. Visiting our relatives. It was really busy, busy, busy!
Because of that, I was not able to update any of my blogs. In fact, I didn’t go online that much for the past three days. And I loved every minute I spent offline! I was able to see old friends and had one too many good conversations.
So how’s your holiday season so far?

Online auction is quite popular these days. A lot of people are using this venue to earn money or to get items at a lower cost. To spice things up a bit for online auction participants, Bidazzled has redefined the way online auction works. It is now offering up to 90% savings on name brand merchandise while it is funding a charity on the side. What a great way to acquire a merchandise, right? You get to acquire something you want and save at the same time, while you also get to support a charity, albeit indirectly.
At Bidazzled, you purchase your bids in advance. Then you use it to bid on brand name merchandise price of which increases a few cents with each bid placed. Just imagine yourself winning an expensive gadget for just a dollar… wow! At Bidazzled, all that is possible.
Auction winners save up to 80% off the retail price of the item won. Nobody loses at the site because even if you don’t win, you still get something out of participating: 50 bonus bids! They have an exclusive offer right now. Readers of this post will get 15 additional bids if you use the following codes until the 15th of January:
* Blog: BBP1202A
* Twitter: BTP1202A
I say go ahead and check out Bidazzled.com now and start bidding on that item you like.

I’ve been sick for a few days now. I have cough and colds and was running a fever until today. I thought I am okay already but when I woke up at midnight, I felt so dizzy once again. I took my time going through everything I need to do all the while thinking the dizziness would go away. But it didn’t. I ended up going offline just after a few hours.
It was tough working while sick. All I want to do is lie down on my bed and sleep. All food taste bland to me and swallowing is painful because of the sore throat. Too many aches and pains. Sigh.
I really wish this will go away tomorrow in time for Christmas eve.

Have you been in a situation where you can’t go out of the house because you are in the middle of something important but you need to because you run out of an essential item at home? I think most of us have already experienced this at least once in our adult lives. But now, there’s no need to worry about running out of an essential at home. All you need to do is go to Alice.com and you are as good as done with your shopping.
Set up your home at Alice.com and you can find a list of items you normally buy. Alice will keep track of everything for you and will even remind you if one of it is running low. Toilet papers, dishwashing items… you name it, Alice has it! What’s good about this site is that it is always free shipping. Plus, you get coupon savings because Alice automatically looks for and finds a coupon to be applied to your purchases. Thousands of products can be availed through this site.
I love the idea for this site because not all of us can always go and run an errand. Go to Alice.com now and start getting organized with your home essentials.

When you have more than enough funds with you, you end up buying so many things for your favorite person in the world. In my case, I think I bought one too many gifts for Hazel already :D
Same time last year, I was in vacation mode and didn’t go online as much. 2009 is different with the recession and the $1-opp change from 3p. Income was not as good as 2008 this year so I can’t go on a vacation mode for now. Possibly on the 24th until January 1st.
When I am sick, I love to have someone serving me food and catering to my whims. That’s my sister, Meng! Hehehe. Hazel’s also massaging my temples to relieve the headaches. I hate being sick! I sleep all the time and even if I want to update my blogs, I don’t think I have enough energy to do so
Anyway, enjoy your weekend everyone! It’s just a few more days before Christmas…

I have been sick for the past two days now. In this current state of mine, an orlando vacations with the family sounds glorious! Theme parks, the beach, days of pure fun… Or a whole body massage after a few minutes of steam bath.
Or I can spend a whole day sleeping in. And waking up just to eat and use the bathroom and not think about emails that are piling up unread.
Now, that’s bliss!

Trade School Graduation Party Invitation
It’s a shame we are not in constant communication with some of our relatives who live outside the city. Thank goodness for the Med School Graduation Invitations that arrived the other day. If not for the invites, we wouldn’t even know two of our relatives are now doctors. The invites also came with medical school graduation announcements.
It reminded me of GraduationCardsShop that offers not only the aforementioned invites and announcements, they also offer law school graduation invitations as well as tech school graduation party invitations. If you want designs that are unique and exclusive, go to their web site and find the one you like. You can have any design or color adjusted as requested. They can print and ship on the same day if you need the cards rushed. Remember that http://www.graduationcardsshop.com is the web site to go to for your graduation invitations and announcements need.

If you are a Filipino, chances are you know Santino and Bro. And you may be a fan of the teleserye May Bukas Pa. Everywhere you look these days, you’d see evidences of how popular this child actor (Zaijian Jaranilla) is and the teleserye featuring him. When my sisters and I went to the mall the other day, we saw these gift items with Santino labels. Dolls, Bible stories, pens and papers, and even slippers!

Kids recognize Santino a mile away. Hazel is a big fan of the teleserye and we let her watch it because there is really a moral lesson to every episode shown. I was wondering why priests were promoting the teleserye before. Now I know why. We’ve been following the series for a couple of weeks now and I must say that it’s good for everyone.
There’s hope, inspiration… and a strong message to always trust in what the Lord plans for us. Keep the faith, in other words.
And guess what? People are now calling Jesus “Bro” and I like it! It has a more intimate-relationship-with-Jesus feel to it, don’t you think?
Happy Sunday to all!

My cousin is now an overseas Filipino worker (OFW). He’s in the Middle East with one of our uncles. I feel for the families of OFWs, especially at a time like this. You cannot help but miss their presence. You cannot help but wish they are here with you, celebrating Christmas and having fun come New Year’s Eve. But just imagine how they feel with them being in a foreign land and missing their families at the same time. Doubly hard.
There are so many things to be lonely about. Weird weather condition. My cousin said that it’s freezing cold where he is right now. He might be in need of an electric blanket. If he’s here in the country, the weather is not a problem. The breeze is cooler now but not freezing cold. No Christmas where he is. That’s another thing. Not to mention not being with his family.
I can truly relate because my dad once worked abroad, too. We missed him for two Christmases so I know how it feels not to have a love on this season.

I asked my dad and his cousin to buy electrical supplies so we can replace the old wiring and what needs to be replaced at home. After watching news stories about faulty wiring causing fire, I told my dad that he better have ours checked. Better safe than sorry. I don’t mind spending on having our electric wires and receptacles checked from time to time if it means less to 0% chances of a fire. I encourage everyone to do this as well.
During Ondoy, a building two blocks away caught fire. Just imagine the dilemma of the firemen who came to rescue. The flood water was neck-deep and their trucks couldn’t cross the street, of course. They had to do some fast thinking to put the fire out but it still took them a couple of hours to figure out how to go about crossing the flood water. During that time, residents from the nearby blocks were panicking because the fire was crossing through electrical wires! We were one of the families who panicked. Fire is something you cannot take lightly. Especially if you live in a neighborhood like ours where houses stand side by side.

I’m in my in-between books mode once more. I was supposed to read Smash Cut by Sandra Brown right after Hush, Hush but I am not over Patch yet so I have to stop. I still have a lot of unread books waiting for me. I feel like there’s not enough time for reading. I also just bought Twisted Travels by Jessica Zafra.

Twisted Travels
My friends know that I am a big fan of hers. She’s witty and sharp and really good in what she does. Read one of her articles and you’ll want to read more of her work. I think I have all her Twisted books.

My first Twisted book.
Anyway, I hope to be able to read more books by next year. Obsessed talaga ako sa pagbabasa at pagkokolekta ng books. If I have my own house, sigurado I have a library instead of an entertainment room. Hehe! Buying lots of books lang naman ang indulgence ko aside from eating out

I am waiting for the life insurance rates from my friend. He now works for an international insurance company. I am getting several quotes to be sure that I am getting the best plan at the lowest possible price there is.
I have learned my lesson already. For the past three years, I’ve been spending more on so many unimportant things. This time around, I will be wiser. I will canvass, compare and contrast, research some more, before I actually shell out money. There are more important things to spend on and I want to be able to save enough for those.

I am very particular when it comes to water that we drink. Our family is prone to gastrointestinal problems and I am willing to shell out a bit more if it meant cleaner water for us. And a peaceful tummy. I saw this Maytag Puriclean ukf8001axx water filter which filters lead and other water contaminants. There are days when the water is not so clear in our area. We can order purified water easily. But I also want the water we use for washing the dishes clean.
I learned this the hard way but starting today, I will invest my hard-earned money on important things rather than hoarding so many unnecessary things for the house.

I rarely get really pissed off with someone close to me. When I do, I can’t keep my mouth shut. I might say hurtful things and hurl accusations one after another. I can be that way. Which is really bad. After an hour or two, when I calm down, I would regret the things I’ve said or would get angry at myself for stooping so low.
That’s why I am teaching myself to shut my trap when I am angry. But it’s too hard, especially when I feel like I am being taken advantage of.

We had Hazel’s hair trimmed. Do you like her new haircut?
I also got my own hair cut short and styled. I love the wash and go haircut because I hate the fuss in the morning or when I am about to go out. And I love the feeling of less weight on my head hehe
Happy weekend everyone!

Brrr… It’s really cold now. The weather is conducive to snuggling, sleeping a lot, sipping hot choco, and just staying put inside the house. The blankets are out and in use. The pajamas and sweat shirts are also on top of the heap of clothes being used daily. It’s like staying in a winter park lodging at home now.
Or maybe it’s just me? I easily get cold and I am sluggish because of it. I feel like sleeping all the time! I need to shake my booty a bit to awaken myself. Hahaha
