Friendster, Facebook…

Thursday, December 3rd, 2009

Friendster versus Facebook.

I noticed that the primary draw of Facebook is the level of interaction in it. You can post your thoughts and your friends can comment on it. You can share a link, a photo, a video and your friends will react by liking it or leaving their thoughts about it. In Friendster, there are limitations. You can post photos and people can comment but they have to go to your album to do that. In Facebook, you can post the album on your wall for easy access. The “wall” is the best thing about Facebook for me. There’s just too many things you can do to your wall. I even post links to my blog entries there.

You can write notes (like blog entries), start causes or join one, become a fan of celebrities and/or their official FB accounts, post an event, and there are so many applications to choose from. You can even play games!

Friendster is definitely out!

Smile more often!

Thursday, December 3rd, 2009

I have a very simple wrinkle treatment: smile more often! It stretches your skin and exercises your facial muscles. Plus, it brightens up your face, gives out a positive aura. Look at those old people who have smiled a lot during their younger years… sure, they still have wrinkles but they have pleasant faces to look at.

I smile a lot. When I was younger, I frown all the time that whenever my mom saw me frowning, she would comment on it and remind me to smile. Now, even when there are things to frown on, I still smile because I feel like it brings positive things into my life. And to others I have unknowingly bestowed my smile upon.

Cranky when hungry

Thursday, December 3rd, 2009

I get cranky when I am hungry. My siblings can attest to that. I can be kind and good except when I am hungry, then I become a monster. I swear someone takes over my body and chews everyone within reach! I am scared I will remain a monster when I go on a diet or start taking a diet pill daily. Hahaha

Seriously, I don’t think I’ll ever be thin. I can’t see myself starving to fit into a dress. I still want to be near my ideal weight though. How I’d do it is beyond me.

Are you over 30 and still single?

Thursday, December 3rd, 2009

Why is it in our country, when you are over 30 and you are still single they look at you with pity? Most people whisper behind your back, thinking they’re sorry you can’t find a guy willing to spend the rest of his life with you. Or laughing at you being a lost cause.

Stop for a minute and think of this: single people can go out anytime they want, blow their paychecks on unimportant items, and don’t think of formula milk, diapers and tuition fees. Sure, there’s something about going home at the end of the day to a husband/wife and kid(s). But I do think the cons outweigh the pros, don’t you think?

Hahaha

Defensive much!

Hard work

Thursday, December 3rd, 2009

My sister works for an insurance company. Their company caters to businesses rather than individuals. Whenever we talk about work, she tells me how hard their staff and agents are working to meet the sales quota for the year. In fact, they are doing drastic insurance marketing strategies right now to be able to reach the targeted sales for the year. And there’s only a less than a month to do it.

Sales is a job I can never be involved in. There’s just way too much pressure involved. Quotas and all that. I am more than happy twisting my brain dry balancing the company books than figuring out where in the world I can get more clients to become interested in a certain product or brand.

Personalized gifts

K

My sister loves jewelries and accessories. She has a box full of it. Personalized Jewelry. I think that’s the Christmas gift I’ll give her. Last Christmas, I gave her a pair of earrings and she’s used it so many times within the year so I know she really appreciates the gift.

This time around, something personalized is what I plan to give my siblings. A pendant with her initial for my sister who loves jewelry. Something for a teacher for my other sister. A planner for another one. And a special pair of snickers for my brother. Hopefully, they all like it and will use it regularly.

Reading…

Thursday, December 3rd, 2009

In our house, there are a lot of magazines and books lying around. We are a family of readers. Lately, I’ve been seeing my brother reading newspapers already. It’s a start. I remember when my dad even borrowed my Jessica Zafra books, curious why I was laughing my ass off while reading her books.

Reading is important for me. It takes my mind off so many worries. It widens my vocabulary. It takes me places I’ve never been to. It calms me and enhances my knowledge of so many things.

Right now, I have a couple of books I am reading (a third of it I’m re-reading) that are on the top right portion of my pc tower. For easy access…

Books

I am hooked this much. I need to have a book on hand always. Hehe

Today…

Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009
  • I feel like getting a haircut. It’s a symbolic thing for me. Whenever I want to cut away the negative things in my life, I get a haircut. I need to cut away the worries. Probably, tomorrow…
  • I am excited and nervous. And undecided. I really wish I have something concrete to hold on to. It’s a tough world out there. Venturing out again after more than 3 years of hiatus from the mad rush of everyday is scary. Wish me luck!
  • I think I’m on the weaning stage of too much blogging. I need to stop thinking of what to blog all the time or I won’t balance the books! Hahaha

Lurking much?!?

Tuesday, December 1st, 2009

There are days when I check my blog stats and feel there’s a lurker I need to be wary of.

lurker

Is that you? Yes, you! Are you spying on me? Why? I haven’t written anything about you for a loooong time. Do you feel like talking to me now? Is that because you now know that I didn’t and have NO plans of touching your sites???

Oh well. Waste of time and blog space.
