Newlywed and the girls

Saturday, January 30th, 2010

TheGirls

I had so much fun meeting up with the girls again. Tim, Shen, Jing and Issang. And the newlywed, Myra. We had dinner at Jay-J’s Inasal in Timog Ave. The food was great and the price was very affordable! Our dinner lasted for hours. The place was great, very conducive to family and group of friends dining out. Our only complaint against the place is that the service was so-so. You need to exert an effort to get the attention of the service crew before they will attend to you. Otherwise, the place is really a good place to spend time with family and friends over dinner.

Anyway, I spent the night laughing so much. When you are with friends you’ve been with for years, you can talk just about anything and everything under the sun (moon in our case hehe). After dinner, we proceeded to Starbucks for some coffee and more laughter.

Myra will be going back to Dubai today. I wish her and her husband the best! And I am hoping to see my friends again soon.

Happy weekend everyone!

Must do for the year

Saturday, January 30th, 2010

The tile flooring in our bathroom needs to be replaced already. It looks icky to me even when it was just scrubbed clean. Even with our favorite tile cleaner, it still stays that way. I will try to save up for the tiles to be replaced.

There’s so many things on my list of ‘must do’ for this year. The year is just 30 days old and there’s already so much to do! I swear I hate all these worrying and planning and executing. Especially when I am doing all of this with little help from those who matter.

Environment friendly

Saturday, January 30th, 2010

I’ve been noticing that there’s been a green study in almost every product these days. This is good news to all of us and to our environment. We need to pull our collective weight to make sure that we do something to save our environment or we will see more wrath of nature through global warming.

If we can buy products that are environment-friendly, let’s go for that one! If we can cut our energy use, let’s do so. There are so many ways we can help the environment if we only want to.

Hazel and Minnie

Hazel and Minnie

Hazel is into the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse for months now. She loves the song, the interactive episodes and Minnie Mouse! Tim asked me last Christmas what Hazel’s current fave and I told her that she just loves Minnie Mouse and when she sees her, she imitates the way she dances. Nakakatuwa! And when the show is on, you cannot take the remote control away from her! The hotdog dance needs to be finished before you can change channels. That’s how much she loves her Minnie, Mickey and Goofy!

Hehehe

Bigger and better bathroom

Saturday, January 30th, 2010

Bathroom

I want a bigger bathroom. One that has a large window like the photo above. I want a bathroom where I can soak and wash away the burdens of the day. Whenever I see a celebrity’s home being featured on tv, the part I always wait for is the tour of the bathrooms. I was checking out Delta faucets at the hardware section of the mall the other day when I was reminded of the bathroom I saw in an architectural digest. I just want a bigger and better bathroom at home. Unfortunately, I don’t have the budget yet to act on it.

Soon.

Treat her right

Saturday, January 30th, 2010

There are gifts for her that you can choose from. There’s no reason for you not to buy her anything when you come for a visit. I don’t know why my friend is settling for second best. Always. I’ve never seen her be pampered by any of her past boyfriends. I thought this new one will be the one to treat her right. Apparently not.

I just doubt the guy’s true intention. I don’t know if that’s really love when he does not exert too much effort in being with her… Anyway, I just hope he got gifts for her when he comes for a visit soon. And I pray he treats her right.

Happy, guilty…

Friday, January 29th, 2010

Sometimes, I feel guilty for being happy.

woman laughing

I just feel like there are so many things to think of, worry about, and there I was laughing my heart out. Like last night. Now, I am bothered because I will be going out tonight again to meet up with two former staff of mine. But this was planned way before and has been postponed a number of times already. I feel like I want to back out but I already said yes and I don’t want to disappoint them. Sigh.

Now I envy those people who only think of themselves.

Plants brought a smile to an old woman's heart

Beautiful Spring Tulip Garden

A neighbor brought plants over to my grandma’s house. She loves giving plants like the Beautiful Spring Tulip Garden to older neighbors. You know what? My grandma appreciated the gesture. It really made her smile, especially when she saw the tulips. Well, who wouldn’t smile when you receive a plant or a flower arrangement? It will certainly make the day of someone who needs a lift.

I wish my grandma has a space at her house where she can put plants. Because when I saw her smile upon receiving the plant from our neighbor, I just know it will be the same reaction had there been a garden at her home she can tend to every day.

I don’t know with you but I feel like a plant or flower brings positive energy into the house. It feels like the sunshine is coming in, bathing the room with a positive glow. We have a mini garden at home with a few potted plants. My dad takes care of the plants. He loves it. It makes me wish that we have a bigger place so he can have a garden of his own. You know what they say about old people and gardening? The latter is good for the heart of the former.

This is a long overdue post. I just managed to upload the photos I took from last month to present thus this late post…

Tim normally asks her friends and love ones what they want for Christmas. Last Christmas, I asked for this book – The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks. I was, and still is, in my book hoarding mode so I was really happy she granted my wish hehehe

The Last Song

And I really love Tita Liza for giving me something to complement my being a bookworm… a bookmark!

Cute ‘no? ;)

I also have a cute little cross I keep in my wallet but I haven’t taken a photo of it yet. Plus, Tita Liza also gave me two hardbound books by Richard North Patterson and Nelson DeMille. Happy!

In all honesty, receiving anything book-related makes me really happy. Or notebooks, pens and journals.

Thanks, Tim and Tita!

Stubborn

Saturday, January 23rd, 2010

Get an auto insurance quote. One of my uncles has a second hand car and he doesn’t believe he needs an insurance for that one. I told him that he needs to get one even for an old car as long as he intends to drive it.

Some men in our family can be really stubborn. Once they feel like they’re right, you can’t change their idea. Some of my uncles, as well as my dad, are like that. And I must admit, I think I got that trait from them :(

Dark at night

Saturday, January 23rd, 2010

dark-road

There are certain parts of the city that are dark at night. When your car happens to break down in that side of the city, imagine what would happen to you. You could not get any help and if there is someone who might offer their help, you need to be wary because it could be someone who could hurt you.

Get roadside assistance that you can trust. These are people you can call anytime you happen to experience a vehicle break down.

Legal assistance

Saturday, January 23rd, 2010

legal

When there’s a legal aspect in mesothelioma that needs to be assessed, get a mesothelioma lawyer. It’s the right thing to do. Let’s admit it, there are many laws we don’t know about. Most of the time, we get surprised to find that something we thought is nothing at all is actually against the law. Have you experienced that?

So be sure to consult a lawyer when you feel like you need to know more about a certain law. And there are a lot of laws out there you and I don’t know about. Remember, ignorance of the law excuses no one from compliance. If you violate one, you can’t give ignorance as an excuse. Or if you don’t know your rights, the more you need to have a lawyer with you.

Be healthy

You can take any weight loss supplement if you want. My only advise is check out the side effects. Know more about the diet pill side effects. What it will do to your body, how it will affect your lifestyle, or will it clash with the prescription medicine you are taking, if any. Gather information before taking anything.

weight-loss

Personally, I am thinking already of getting a weight loss supplement for me. I am still checking out the best one I can get and then I will tell you about it.

Who are you rooting for?

Thursday, January 21st, 2010

Are you prepared for the coming May 2010 elections already? Do you have a presidential bet by now?

At home, we are not yet rooting for someone specifically. Although my dad’s rooting for Gibo Teodoro, my siblings and I are not yet convinced on who we’ll vote for. My dad’s convincing us to vote for Gibo. We would if it weren’t for the current president backing him up. Nakakatakot! We’re thinking of Noynoy Aquino but we’re not sure of his capacity to run the country. And his claim to fame is his parents. We don’t even know what he actually did the whole time he’s serving as a Congressman and now as a Senator. Ano nga ba? One of my sisters wants to vote for Dick Gordon. He’s okay but again, I doubt if he’s doing all this without someone backing him up, who in turn will benefit the most if he wins. Mahirap nang magsalita pero I’m sure tatay has a lot to say hehe

So who are you going to vote for?

Year to own a home

Thursday, January 21st, 2010

Every one I know wants to have a house of their own. Even me! I live in a house my dad owns. It’s ours. But I still want to get a new home for us. Somewhere more peaceful and quiet. If you are looking to buy a home for the first time, or a new home for the nth time, know the 2010 Homebuyer Tax Credits before doing it.

This is just an overview of what a homebuyer can expect. For homeowners who wish to acquire a new property after 5 years of living in their present home as well as first-time buyers, the federal income tax credit has been extended and expanded to include you. For the former, homeowners who have lived in their current home consecutively for 5 of the past 8 years, a tax credit of $6,500 can be given to you. For the latter, first-time homebuyers, or those who have not owned their own property in the last three years, an $8,000 tax credit is up for you.

We should all take advantage of these tax credits as there may be no future extensions. Go get a written, binding contract by April 30, 2010. Income limits are now $125,000 for singles, $225,000 for married couples with a $20,000 phase-out of the credit for both.

This is the year to buy our own homes. Go and find out more about the 2010 Homebuyer Tax Credits. And then do a Home Search of the property you want to own at www.ColdwellBanker.com now.

Random thoughts for today…

Wednesday, January 20th, 2010
  • I haven’t uploaded the photos from the holidays yet. My digicam is acting up and I have other things to do than tinker with it. Probably this weekend, I just might do it.
  • My cousin and I went to the mall yesterday to have my laptop checked. I am thinking of just buying a new one instead of having it repaired. Because I might spend on the old one and it will just give me a few months of use. Anyway, I was able to get back the money I spent on buying it. I will just have to save a little bit more for a new one.
  • The sun is shining brightly in the morning and then it drizzles around noon time to early afternoon. Weird weather we have right now. It’s cold but you sweat a lot when you go out. Flu is “in” now so drink lots of water and don’t forget your vitamin C.

What’s happening with you people? Anything new?

Memorable trip

Taal Lake

Mababaw lang kaming pamilya talaga. In all honesty, even a trip to the mall can be a memorable one for us. Ganyan kami kababaw. For us kasi, as long as the family is complete, we’re fine with it. Just a lunch or dinner together, that’s something already.

Allergic!

Monday, January 18th, 2010

I am allergic to shrimps. And any other kind of seafood except fish. There was a time when we went to have lunch at the mall. I ate baked mussels. After an hour, I started throwing up. I could feel my lips swelling and my gum was itchy already. I knew it was my allergy attacking. I had to get some allergy relief before I was fine again.

I know you might be asking yourself, why would I eat something I know I am allergic to? The reason is I love seafoods and some people have told me that the more I eat the food I am allergic to, the more I will get immune to it. I think the mussels I ate that time was just badly cooked that’s why it aggravated my allergy.

bigbelly

I need to reduce belly fat. My own belly fat! I became too lazy to exercise when I started working at home. All I ever do is go sit in front of my pc to work and go online. I just get off my chair when I need to go to the bathroom, eat, or sleep. Or when I go out of the house. Can you imagine how my belly grew big?

Through the wooden slats

Monday, January 18th, 2010

EcoTrail

We walked through the Eco Trail. Hazel was really brave, wanted to walk on her own. So we let her. She’s walking in front of me. When we got to the hanging bridge, she stopped a bit. I thought she’s looking through the wooden slats. She was indeed looking through the wooden slats while her knees were shaking! She was scared of the ravine below. We told her it’s nothing and that she wouldn’t fall. She walked a few steps but asked my dad to carry her.

When I looked down, it was my knees’ turn to start shaking! Hahaha
