Indigestion

Sunday, January 17th, 2010

My friend, Che, who is a registered nurse was telling me about the benefits of colon cleansing. Her dad was feeling really bad due to constant indigestion before. Aside from eating healthy food, less meat and more fruits and vegetables, he also had a colon cleansing. It helped a lot, according to Che. Her dad is now healthier than ever.

I want the same thing for my dad. Although I doubt if he can really forgo the meat as well as the smoking.

Belen 2009

Belen

I haven’t posted any holiday pictures yet. Here’s the first one in the series of posts I will do that will show the photos we’ve taken during the holiday season.

The above photo is the Belen or the Nativity Scene in Sto. Domingo Church last December. Ganda ano? Every year, the church puts up a belen and it’s entirely different year after year. It’s something most churchgoers look forward to every holiday season.

Friday night discussions

Sunday, January 17th, 2010

As usual, my cousins flocked over to our house last Friday night. My cousins love to hang out at our house because we have a lot of food. Hahaha! It’s true! Plus the fact that we have been having great discussions over so many things ever since we started this Friday night thing.

Last Friday night, we got to discuss about the hgh supplements and the issues surrounding some athletes. We also discussed the controversy surrounding a local tv show and how one of the judges said some nasty things about teachers in general. It was a fun night we all had. And a perfect way to stimulate the minds of my younger cousins, steering them away from bad influences around them.

Bonding time

Sunday, January 10th, 2010

Hanging out and talking is a great way to bond with your family. We have a place at home exactly for that activity… our patio! Just recently, my sister and I thought of replacing the patio furniture cushions because the ones we have now are already worn out from too much use. We also would love to have the plants around the patio given a touch from a person with a green thumb. We want brighter things at home this 2010 so a new-looking patio is a must! Anyway, we spend so much time in there during the weekends and even on week nights when it’s too hot inside.

Busy weekend

reading

When I have to work on weekends, I make sure I am prepared for it. I psych myself for the day ahead. That way, my mind and body know that it will be busy for the next 18 hours or so. Unlike my normal weekends wherein I just laze around the house or read the books piled in my corner.

Like this weekend. I have a really busy one. Cpanel, throttling, spam comments, transfer of blogs, domain pushing, tasks to finish. And more.

How’s your weekend so far?

Are you a GLEEk?

glee

My sisters, G and M, are both hooked on GLEE. I am not much a fan of musicals but the refreshing voices of the cast got to me, too. I was surprised that even my friend, Tim, is also hooked to the popular tv show. We are all GLEE fans now!

gleecast

I like the story of the popular kids becoming involved in the music club. You normally see the geeks and the nerds being bullied in school for being involved in a music club they think are for the “losers” only. But in this musical comedy show, you see the geeks hobnobbing with the jocks and cheerleaders. The show offers a lot for every type of person that’s why I think it’s become popular.

Are you also a GLEEk?

Better tomorrow

Friday, January 8th, 2010

WomanThinking

When I think of the future, I don’t only think of myself. My future includes my family, my relatives who are close to us, and my friends. It’s the one thing that I couldn’t help myself from doing. I have grand plans for all of us. Plans that involve a comfortable life. Plans that involve a better tomorrow.

It’s a noble idea to think of everyone else’s welfare. I am not noble but I do want a good life for me and my family and for everyone I love.

Coke ZERO 2010

NoCoke

It’s Day 7 of my quest to a Coke ZERO 2010. That means no Coca-cola or any other softdrink products for me this year! I am a Coke fan. I drink it a lot! Before, not anymore. Hopefully. I am really praying I won’t succumb to temptation and free myself from the spirit of Coke. As I told everyone around me, it’s hard but doable.

Here’s to a healthy 2010!

Goal for 2010: Healthier me =)

Tuesday, January 5th, 2010

I am really struggling to lose weight. But I am sticking to this goal of mine. I need help and motivation. My sister and my friends have been telling me that it’s hard for the first two weeks. When I surpass that timeline, it would be easier for me to follow through with my diet regimen.

I do hope so because it is really hard!

It became firm in my mind when the whole family went to Tagaytay. We went to Picnic Grove and if you’ve been there, you know there’s an Eco Trail, right? I thought I’d suffer a heart attack from the heat! I was perspiring like there’s no tomorrow and I was short of breath with just a few steps! Hingal na hingal talaga! Lawit dila na ako sobra! I thought I’d have to really do it, lose weight, or I will die young!

I am starting with softdrinks. I was a big soda fan but I cut it off already. No more sugar as well for me. I am taking it slow with rice because I suffer from dizziness from lack of it. But I have already cut my rice intake by half. I was able to stop eating rice at night before so I know I can do it again. We have a stepper equipment for exercise here at home and I am using it starting tomorrow. It’s like walking, albeit slower than a treadmill. Better to have that than nothing. Then I am also doing some alternative to crunches.

I weighed myself this afternoon. I gained 10 pounds over the holidays! I told Tim about it and she gave me a tip on how to lose the holiday pounds I gained. I will do that.

2010 is a year to a healthy lifestyle. I will do my best to give birth to the healthier me this year. I vow to do that and more!
