Healing

Saturday, February 27th, 2010

Healing can only start if you admit it to yourself that you need one. If you acknowledge that there’s a problem. After that, you can start looking for ways on how to heal yourself. There’s Passages Malibu, the world’s premier addiction cure center. It is founded by Pax and Chris Prentiss. Both are hands-on when it comes to running the center. The center knows how to cure drug and alcohol dependency. There are 9 therapists all working together to cure the underlying cause of the addiction. It could be a lot of things. Some people get addicted to painkillers. Either they are experiencing pain emotionally, psychologically or a more concrete pain like an injury. They are not the ordinary rehab center. They do not have a 12-step program. They offer holistic treatment aside from the medical one. With Passages, you need not experience shabby treatment to make you feel like you’ve been through hell to get to heaven. The facility is superb! Even the food is skillfully prepared. You can check out the Passages Malibu video for a tour of the place.

I’ve been following what happened to Aerosmith’s frontmant Steven Tyler. He’s addicted to painkillers. He entered a rehab to cure it and now he’s back and I heard that he might even be touring with the band. That’s a comeback for you! If he can do it, so can you. Go ahead and find out more about Passages Malibu Addiction Cure Center now. You can also visit their other sites for a better knowledge of their holistic approach.

Friends…

Friendship

Do you want to know who your friends are? They are the ones you are most comfortable being with. The ones with whom you can share a comfortable silence with. Some people feel the need to talk their heads off, filling in voids in a conversation. Others feel the need to catch their breath and are not worried it would be awkward when they do. That’s your friend there!

I miss my friend :(

Cutting down on costs

Saturday, February 27th, 2010

My cousin Don keeps on forgetting to check the auto insurance quotes he got from an insurance agent friend of mine. He’s changing his provider because the quote he got from them for the renewal was quite high compared to the current one he’s paying for. He wants to find a cheaper insurance, one that will fit his budget for this year.

Most of my relatives are really finding ways on how they can cut down on their expenses for this year. I think this is the year of saving up. That’s why I am no longer surprised to hear that Don is cutting down on his insurance costs.

Up In The Air

Up in the Air

Can’t wait for the movie to be shown locally!

George Clooney is a swoon-worthy man. And he’s a great actor, too. That’s why I make it a point to watch his movies. I have been awaiting Up In The Air since I read about it in one entertainment blog. Then I saw Anna Kendrick in Ellen and it got me even more excited. The trailer shown was great!

It is rated R for some nudity and explicit language so that means I will have to watch this one in Trinoma with either Tim or Shen. Haha

Graduate now, work after

Saturday, February 27th, 2010

I commend schools that make sure the students who graduate from them will be working thereafter in no time at all. The Regency Beauty Institute, a cosmetology school, recently launched a job site called BeautyJobs. The site aims to connect qualified job seekers with employers seeking to find one.

For students graduating from the Regency school, they need not look far and wide for a job. They need only browse the job site and apply in an open position. This is a great idea and one that will revolutionize the beauty industry. Go ahead and check out the school at RegencyBeauty.com while the job site at BeautyJobs.com.

Today…

Saturday, February 27th, 2010
  • It’s Panagbenga in Baguio once again. Last year, we missed it because we went to Bataan instead. This year, my sisters and I were planning to go but opted not to at the last minute. We remembered that we’re trying to cut down on expenses this year so we can save up for a major project. I miss Baguio. It’s our adopted hometown. But the expense of staying in a hotel or a house rental plus going around the place, eating out, etc. is just not in our budget this quarter. Maybe next time…
  • February is about to end. My goodness! The way the days go by it’s like a marathon is happening. Ang bilis! Before we know it, Lenten season is here. Time to really step up on the savings project. Another school year is just around the corner!

Earthquake in Chile

Saturday, February 27th, 2010

I was reading tweets when I read about it from CNN Breaking News. Have you heard what happened in Chile? An 8.8 magnitude earthquake hit them! I can’t imagine how strong that quake was. The Philippines’ worst quake was the 1990 Luzon earthquake with a 7.8 magnitude where an estimated 1,621 people were killed.

It’s really scary the things that happen these days. The Haiti earthquake, then there’s a report that Japan was also hit by a 7.3 magnitude earthquake, too. Then, this one in Chile.

I am praying really hard that nothing like this will hit the country. Let’s all pray that there won’t be another earthquake hitting any country again.

Privacy is what a newly-married couple needs. So how about giving it to them directly after their wedding? If you are thinking of that, the destination weddings held at the Karisma Hotels are for you.

The Karisma Hotels is a collection of hotels and resorts in the white-sand beaches of the Riviera Maya. The Azul Beach is perfect for a wedding. There’s something for each member of the family. The dining experience is superb. Plus, the newly-married couple can immediately hie off to a secluded portion of the beach for their honeymoon!

Sick little girl

Hazel

Hazel was sick for close to five days since Monday. She had fever and diarrhea. We went to her pedia and aside from the medicine, was advised to stop eating junk food. The thing is, we don’t really allow her to eat junk food. But when she goes out of the house, we don’t know what her folks are giving her. Hay.

The candies got to go. She’s been eating a lot of lollipops lately. And she’s on a soft diet for now. Poor girl’s craving for tempura but it has to wait.

She’s okay now but we’re giving it a few more days before she goes back to her normal diet.

All roads leading to the beach

Thursday, February 25th, 2010

beachYou can really feel the summer heat now. All I want to do is take a bath and never leave the bathroom. My sisters and I am talking about going to the beach. It might be after the end of this school year because the two teachers in the family will be busy for the next few weeks. Plus the other accountant is also busy because of the tax and audit season.

My dad wants to go to Pangasinan again. My siblings don’t want to anymore. We’ve been there a couple of times during the past three years and for us, it’s enough. Our Tia Cely’s place is a tad too small for all of us. The barrio gets too dark by 6PM. There’s no sari-sari store nearby, you have to walk through a literally dark street before you can get there. The light is too malamlam (I don’t know the right term for this in English). The place has a general feel of being gloomy. Don’t get me wrong. Those times we stayed there were memorable ones for us. The company was good. We love our Tia Cely to bits! But to endure another night of gloom when we can just ask Tia Cely to come to Manila and join us elsewhere…

Anyway, I would love to go to Laiya, Batangas. My sisters are saying we go to Boracay. Bahala na. What I do know is that I need to go to the beach.

;)

Frustrated pianist

Wednesday, February 24th, 2010

My sister, Grace, is a frustrated pianist. She really wanted to play piano chords but then there were more important expenses my parents need to prioritize so my sister’s dreams of becoming a pianist had to take a back seat.

Thanks to Play Piano Tips, a web site where you can learn piano chords easily. My sister can now learn how to play the piano. No need for her to start from the very bottom of the ladder the way kids do when they start piano lessons. She can now short cut her way to learning, so to speak. All you frustrated pianists need is the step-by-step piano video tutorials of Yoke Wong.

You can learn playing piano chords through the video. The best part is that you can learn piano improvisation! This is not taught my piano teachers and can be learned only if you do it yourself. Of course, with the help of Yoke Wong. Watch her videos and learn! Go to PlayPianoTips.com now and enter your name and valid email address to claim your free piano playing techniques.

Dinner for four

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010

I realized that enjoying a dinner does not depend on how many people will be with you. You can be just four and still have a fun, fun time with each other.

That’s what happened last Friday. My friends and I were planning to see each other because we found another friend of ours we’ve long been looking for in Facebook. Things didn’t go as planned. Before Friday, the meet-up was scrapped already. The ‘guest of honor’ was not replying to messages sent to her. We thought of asking others to join us instead. But being a close-knit group, we were not as confident the night would go well with trying to talk to people we hardly ever get to bond with in high school. To make a long story short, we scrapped the plan altogether. No more plans of seeing each other on Friday night for dinner.

And then come Thursday afternoon, we found ourselves planning the dinner again. Tim was under a stressful situation at work so she wanted some stress busting time with us. Dinner happened with only four of us: Tim, Shen, Jing and yours truly. It was a blast! Our table was the loudest! We were laughing about inanimate objects that slipped into the discussion unnoticed. We were teasing Shen about her boyfriend coming over for a visit. We were talking about so many things that before we know it, almost 5 hours have lapsed. As usual, fun times have had by all.

Unfortunately, no one thought of bringing a camera so no photos taken that night. Sayang! I would have love to post the photo of the sisig rice I ate. Sarap eh!

;)
