Weekend Love

I am sending some weekend love to each and every one of you out there…

What are your plans? As for me, I will be reading a new book and will just be lazing around the house.

Happy weekend everyone! Have fun!

Preserve memories…

Friday, August 20th, 2010

My digicam is already acting up. When you charge it, the battery life will only last for a couple of hours unlike the normal two or three days that it can last. Since I only have one, I am now reading digital camera reviews to find a new one I can purchase.

Photographs are very important to capture special moments and preserve memories. Digital cameras are a must for every family, especially those who travel a lot. I keep a spare digicam battery as well as a memory card always ready. You never know when you need to capture more memories, right?

Diamonds are forever.

Friday, August 20th, 2010

I read that a local actress collects diamonds. She invests her money on jewelries studded with diamonds, most especially diamond rings. Most of her earnings really go to buying jewelries because they were able to prove that it’s a good investment. One time that she had a stretch of no work, they were able to sell a few of their jewelries and it was more than enough to tide them over for a year.

I remember my mom used to be a big fan of diamond studded jewelries, too. But she couldn’t afford to buy a lot because, well, the funds were not enough. Diamonds are forever, they say. It’s true. What little jewelries with diamonds my mom left are still here with us.

Fingertalks and Pink Urinal

Sasha, Cai, Fingertalks

I was once very active in blogging activities. In almost every EB, I was there. I even reached Batangas City by myself because I wanted to meet two bloggers I became close to. But since my priorities shifted, I became inactive and eventually lost touch with most of them.

Two of the many bloggers I met in the past were Cai of the Pink Urinal and Des of Fingertalks. I became really good friends with them. Cai is still around, still active with local blogging activities. We still talk from time to time. But I was closer to Des and she’s the one I miss the most. She went abroad to work there with her husband. We lost communication because according to her, internet connection in her location was horrible. The last time we talked, she told me that she’s going to lose her blog because of problems with her host. And that she wouldn’t be able to talk to us for quite sometime because of the net problems.

I was suddenly reminded of our girl talks, Cai, Des and I. I miss the girls! I don’t miss being active in local blogging activities but I miss bonding with the friends I made through blogging.

An inspiration to his neighbors

Thursday, August 12th, 2010

Uncle Keno is an old neighbor who seems to have no family or relatives of his own. He wouldn’t talk about them but would just tell whoever asks that they’re living far away from him. But lest you think that he lives like a pauper, rest assured that he’s not. He invested his money wisely and he is now reaping the success of those investments.

His success has inspired a lot of his neighbors, including me! Because of him, I am considering, weighing the pros and cons if I buy gold coins. It’s a sound investment. Just ask Uncle Keno about it!

Counterbalance

Thursday, August 12th, 2010

What are your strengths and weaknesses?

Success is achieved by developing our strengths, not by eliminating our weaknesses.

This is one of the most common questions asked during a job interview. If I were to answer truthfully, this would have been my answer…

My weakness is that I easily get irritated/annoyed with my co-workers. Especially the silly ones. Those who insist on turning the volume of their pc speakers up when you are busy concentrating on balancing the books of the company. Or those who insist on playing local novelty songs that grate on your nerves. Or those who keep on going on bathroom or coffee breaks when there’s a deadline to meet. Or those who can’t keep their mess on their own work stations. I can go on and on and the list will be several pages long.

Now, my strength is I can easily adapt in any given environment. In short, I am good at pretending! I can pretend to be fine with whatever is going on around me when I need to.

Don’t you think my strength and weakness counterbalance each other?

Hehehe

Facebook friends

Facebook Friends

I love Facebook! There are persons with whom I hardly ever talk to back in school that I am now friends with in Facebook. Imagine that! And I actually like being friends with them.

There is this one particular girl back in grade school that I was so irritated with. I don’t think we ever exchanged words in school. But these days, she even leaves a comment in my personal blog! Given a chance, I do think we can be good friends offline.

Looking back, I think I was too territorial and because of that, I limited myself to only a few friends. Sayang din.

Blessing in disguise

Thursday, August 12th, 2010

Daniel is about to buy a house and lot five months ago. But he bought gold bullion instead. Why?

Daniel actually saw a house and lot that he can afford. Since he’s eager to start preparing for married life, he wanted to immediately put a down payment to stake his claim on the property. But for some reason, he didn’t do it. He went home excited to tell his parents and his fiancee about it.

But you know, the indecision was actually a blessing in disguise. The house and lot turned out to be located in a place that is easily flooded with heavy rains. Instead of using it for the property, he just thought of investing it in gold bullion for now. The property hunting will have to wait again. He wants to make sure that the location will be a safe one and away from easily flooded areas.

Anyway, if you are interested in buying gold bullion like Daniel, just go to USGoldBureau.com now.

Talk to Him

Giving up

When I feel like giving up, I just lie down and look up. I talk to Him. I do that to relieve the sadness in my heart, the fears, the worries… It’s my way of coping so that I won’t succumb to the negative energy surrounding me.

You know what? The talking does the trick. It’s like having an invisible friend listening to your rants! It’s that good!

Try it. Talk to Him. Tell him what’s in your heart and mind. And see how much relief you’d feel after.

Being the older sister…

Thursday, August 12th, 2010

Being the older sister for me didn’t stop even when my sisters became adults. I guess it will always be that way. When we were younger, any one who dared quarrel with my sisters wouldn’t even think of doing it twice. Because of me. I made sure of that. I was my siblings’ protector and I remain that way until now.

My sister went home yesterday looking so disappointed and depressed. When I asked her why, she poured her heart out right away. It was about work and her monster of a boss! She told me her problems. I didn’t show any emotion, I just listened. But deep inside all I wanted to do was wait for her boss to come out of their office and drag her to an empty room to give her a dose of her own medicine! I wanted to make her feel the same disappointment and depression that my sister felt. I wanted to make her cry and make her say sorry to my sister for what she did!

Of course, I won’t do any of that. I just listened and told her to weigh her options. If she isn’t happy with her current job, then find another one soon. No need to be unhappy with your work when there are other positions out there waiting to be filled.

I still would want to give her boss a piece of my mind. And let’s see if she’ll continue bullying everyone working under her!

To invest or to give as a gift

Thursday, August 12th, 2010

Did you know that in India, they buy gold coins to give as gifts for special occasions especially for newly weds? I heard about that and I also learned that what I heard was true. I found the information at the US Gold Bureau.

My aunt and her husband are now preparing to buy gold coins. They have Indian friends who are getting married soon and they owe a lot to them. They will give them gold coins on their wedding day.

So you see, buying gold coins is not only meant for those who want to invest in gold. There’s also the purpose of giving it as gifts. If you are interested either way, just go to USGoldBureau.com now for more information.

“Pruning” my Facebook list of friends

Wednesday, August 4th, 2010

I can’t understand why some people will add you as a friend in Facebook and then will proceed to ignore you after. There were some old high school friends who added me as a friend but who didn’t even say a single word to me, not a “hi” or “hello”. No, I am not guilty of the same thing. In fact, with some, I was the one who initiated the kumustahan.

It made me think once again of “pruning” my list of friends. Those whom I haven’t talked to or those who I think is not interested in rekindling the friendship I once had with them, I’ll remove from my list. Imagine, I had these two really close friends back in freshman high. I said hi and asked them how they are now. Dedma! Not a single word from them. But there’s this one guy I haven’t spoken to in high school but is constantly leaving comments in my status updates and would often say hi to me.

Later, I will start the “pruning”!
