Laptop table for sis

Thursday, September 30th, 2010

I am thinking about getting this laptop table for my sister Meng…

Laptop Table

She needs one. She loves writing while sitting on the sofa watching tv. This laptop table will give her the comfort she needs while typing away on her laptop.

I hope the seller will send me a message soon.

Milo

Our neighbor gave my dad a Beagle puppy. He’s one month old already. Hazel fell in love with the pup the first time she laid eyes on him. We asked her to name him and she said “Milo”. Because his color is like that of the chocolate drink ;)

Everyone, meet Milo. Our cute new baby!

Birthdays and a death anniversary

birthday-candles

Yesterday was my sister’s birthday. As tradition in our family, we celebrated it by going out and having lunch together. The whole family. We had a blast and we were so full! ;)

September is a busy month for the family. There are three birthdays to celebrate and my mom’s death anniversary to commemorate. And two friends of mine also celebrate their birthdays this month. Busy month!

Next Sunday will be our youngest brother’s birthday. I am thinking of just having dinner at home because he will be out for his thesis defense that day. And then my mom’s death anniversary so we will go visit her grave.

Busy, busy!

;)

Uggs for the birthday girl!

Thursday, September 16th, 2010

Tomorrow is one of my best bud’s birthday. Shen is turning 31, yeah! Tim, Jing and I are thinking of what gift to give her. She’s leaving for the states soon so we’re thinking of practical gifts. Ones that she can bring with her when she makes the international move.

Ugg Womens Bailey Button Triplet

Then I remember ugg boots! I know she loves it and she can surely bring it with her and use it. She can even wear it on her flight. I am thinking of the Authentic UGG Australia Women’s Bailey Button Triplet.

Think she’ll like it?

On a vacation

Thursday, September 16th, 2010

A theme designer that I’ve been following in a micro-blogging site is on an Orlando vacation. He regularly posts photos of him and his family while on vacation. Viewing them makes me want to pack my bag and go on a vacation, too!

That’s the beauty of working at home. You are in control of your schedule and you can go on vacations when you feel like it. But, of course, you need to have enough money to finance the vacation and to take the blunt of ‘no work, no pay’ that comes with being the boss of your self.

I still dream of being in Orlando right now and spending time in theme parks!

My Nokia C3

My Nokia C3

When it comes to gadgets, I am very practical. I don’t buy what’s “in”. I buy what I really need. With cellphones, I buy ones that have multi-functions for me. I have an old Smartphone and my new Nokia C3. Both are very affordable. I bought the Smartphone years ago from a friend. I bought it not only for the call and text functions of it. It can also be used as an ebook reader, a music and video player, and it can be loaded with so many applications like a Lextionary (dictionary for Smartphones).

Now with my Nokia C3… It was a gift to me by my lovable sister Meng. It was very affordable, too and it has social networking functions that I like. I don’t go for the expensive phones because that would be impractical for me. I am not much of a texter or caller so a simple one will do. Like my Nokia C3!

Pretty isn’t it?

Out of jobs

Thursday, September 16th, 2010

Rache and her boyfriend are both looking for healthcare jobs. Rache is a midwife while her boyfriend is a nursing aide. They are finding it hard to look for open positions for them. Thank goodness for the internet they now found a site offering jobs for people who are in the medical field like them.

Finding a job at this time is not easy. Most of the companies who suffered a blow during the recession are still in the recuperating stage. And there are some who are folding up just now. But with patience and perseverance, people who are out of jobs like Rache and her boyfriend will eventually find one.

Swimming pool and garden

Thursday, September 16th, 2010

My aunt and her husband bought an adjacent lot to their home. They have been thinking of having a swimming pool and garden built on the lot. My cousin loves to swim so it’s not a surprise that they’re thinking about a pool. They actually go out of town or book a hotel room to be able for my cousin to swim.

I think the constructions under way. My aunt told me that she just ordered outdoor chaise lounges for the pool side. And the landscape artist is already discussing the layout of the garden to them.

Can’t wait for the construction to be done! I’ll drop by for sure.

A Jessica Zafra fan

Jessica Zafra books

I am a huge Jessica Zafra fan! I’ve been since college when a friend introduced her broadsheet column and her first Twisted book to me. I saved up for that first Twisted book. I bought it in college. I bought all her other books when I was working already.

I always bring a Jessica Zafra book with me whenever I go on road trips or when I know I’d be queuing up and it’ll take me longer than a few minutes. Her books are great companions because you can actually imagine her talking in front of you. Just a warning, though. Make sure you have a hanky with you to cover your mouth with because you will surely feel like laughing out loud with some of her stories.

Swing!

Thursday, September 16th, 2010

When I was a kid I remember being so envious of a neighbor who had a swing at home. I wanted one for me and siblings and cousins, too. But it was not meant to happen and we made do with the tree’s branches that we had back then.

So when I saw a wooden swing set, I immediately thought of getting one for Hazel. She would surely love it! When we went to this place that has a traditional custom made swing, she did the happy dance and asked me if she could try it out. The wooden swing set will make her happy and I can already see her sweet smile when I give it to her.

Buys and sells clothes

Thursday, September 16th, 2010

Maxine buys wholesale clothing weeks before Christmas so she can find good clothes she can sell in her stall when she joins bazaars. She loves buying and selling clothes. If she actually finds a really good one, she buys it and keeps it for herself.

I think it’s really best to think of how to earn additional income for the holidays. The additional income can be used to buy gifts for your love ones. Clothes are one of the things that people buy the most during special occasions like Christmas. Maxine’s idea of buying wholesale clothing to get it at really low prices can be transformed into a tidy sum of profit if done properly.

While on the road…

Thursday, September 16th, 2010

It is always good to have a roadside assistance plan ready especially when you are about to hit the road for a major trip. Who knows when you might need assistance while on the road, right? It is better to be prepared then.

There was once in the past when we encountered an emergency while on the road. We were going to visit my brother’s grave when the car broke down all of a sudden and my dad couldn’t figure out what went wrong with it. We had to call my uncle who was a mechanic before we were able to continue on our way.

Imagine it would be less of a hassle if only we had a roadside assistance plan. Consider that.
