BYBS: 2011, I am thankful! ;-)

Thank you, 2011! Despite the ups and downs, more of the latter than the former actually, 2011 has been great! This year, I gained friends. In 2011 I had my first international trip. I learned valuable lessons this year as well.

I was a bit hesitant to join Facebook because I know I would get hooked to it like what happened to me in Twitter. You know what? I did join and, yes, I got hooked! I reconnected with long, lost high school friends and managed to become friends with people from the past with whom I was not really too fond or aware of. Kate immediately comes to mind. I swear she is one person I was least expecting to be close to. But you know I am one person who remembers all the kindness I got from everyone. There was this one time that I was so desperate to get out of the country and thinking of applying for immigrant to New Zealand or Australia. I tried to ask Kate about how she and her family got to NZ and she replied to me and we even had a chat about it. I didn’t forget and though we were never really close, she still gave me answers when others were so maramot! This year I got to know Kate more through Facebook and Twitter and I am thankful that we became closer. Thanks to blogging and writing na rin
There’s also Tony with whom I had almost zero interaction with in high school and who now happens to be one supportive friend! I love social networking sites!

There are people who are STILL in my life that I am grateful for. JU and Inay Neng and Raquel and Maiylah. Tita Liza, Tatay and Mai. And my blogger-friends Gelliane, Wendy, Karen, Cherry, Ria, Honney, Teacher Julie, Bro. Vince, and Skippyheart.
Will I forget my best friends Tim, Jing and Shen and Jhing? Of course not! They made my year one helluva great ride and I will forever be grateful sisters!
Another thing I am grateful for? My best guy friend Derek and I are on speaking terms again! It took years before we finally got to talk and thanks to well-meaning friends who intervened (Anthony and Lemuel).
I also get to learn more about friends and friendship this year. Thanks for that!

I think almost everyone know that I went to Hong Kong last 8th of this month. It’s my first international trip and I will forever be grateful to Kevin and Shen for making it possible and for Tim and Jing for sticking with me while I was going back and forth about joining them (due to budget constraints what else!). I had a blast and I just know it is a start to my international travels this 2012.

There are many lessons I learned this year foremost of which is don’t be complacent! Don’t settle. Even if it is shining brightly it is still best to anticipate and save for the rainy days. And the valuable lesson of all that I learned this 2011: Let someone else do the budgeting. I am terrible in it and an accountant at that! Argh!

There are too many bad stuff this year. I felt unlucky and all that. Work was a bit less than horrible. But I am choosing to focus on the positive than on recalling all the negative stuff that happened. I am just grateful that I am here, alive and kicking and still blogging, and that my family is with me.
I am grateful, 2011! There’s still a few more days left and I am preparing to welcome 2012 with open arms.
