Ready for lights out!

January 21st, 2012

If you live in this side of the planet, you should always be ready for a power interruption, especially during typhoons and elections. At home, we always have stuff we would need should a power interruption takes place. Flashlights, candles, matches, a transistor radio powered by three duracell procell aa, fans and our rechargeable and battery-powered lamps. The transistor radio is a must as we can continue being ‘connected’ to the world even when a storm is raging outside. So we always make sure all lamps are recharged and new batteries are in stock.

You just never know when you’re going to need it.

I remember those summer days when power was interrupted everyday for a couple of hours. It was torture for us because it’s so hot inside the house! Good thing my grandma’s place has a veranda where we stayed and cooled ourselves until power was back.

Those were the days… It was fun for us kids because we got to stay outdoors until early evening and played to our hearts’ content. But for adults, it meant almost no work done most specially for the moms.
