Replacing old items at home

Monday, February 20th, 2012

My sister and I are slowly replacing old stuff inside our home to new ones. Whenever we have enough money with us, we would go to the home section of the department store and would buy at least one or two replacement stuff. We were about to choose from the ironing boards that we saw the last time we were there but decided not to buy it the last minute because we remembered we were going to church after. My sister told me to just order one online and have it delivered at home so it would not be a hassle for us to carry it to the taxi stand. She’s right!

I really can’t wait to have a much more organized and peaceful home. Very soon.

Asking for permit

Monday, February 20th, 2012

The boss will be on vacation for the next three weeks. He left an instruction on how he can be contacted via the audio conferencing services that he got specifically for the vacation and all his staff took note of it.

One of his staff had to contact him to ask his permission as he needed to go on leave. The staff’s wife was about to deliver their first baby so he really had to get time off work. The boss was contacted via the audio conferencing and the staff was allowed to go.

Great technology!

Planning again.

Monday, February 20th, 2012

Plans of losing weight together began between my sister and I again the other day. She was supposed to wear her scrub top to school as it was a special day for her students. All teachers were asked to wear their scrub tops and pants as they would be monitoring kids in their play time. Anyway, my sister was surprised her top was smaller than it used to. I told her that she’s now bigger than she used to be. We both felt like crying! I am also bigger now than I used to be!

So we are planning again to go to the gym, work out at least four times a week and really be serious in our weight loss program.

I am hoping we will follow through with our plan and see it to fruition.

Dinner with old college classmates

Monday, February 20th, 2012

I met up with old college classmates about a week ago. It was just a dinner but the reminiscences and the stories about each of our lives more than made up for the party atmosphere at our long table. Six women and five men. All working in the BPO industry except me. I once was so it wasn’t hard for me to keep up with the conversations about work. It was actually a lot of fun to catch up on what’s happening in the audit and accounting fields.

Then all conversations shifted to our personal lives. 50% of the people at the table are already married with kids. I was just listening to all of them talk about their husbands, wives and kids and their struggles to make both ends meet from time to time. One statement that struck me was the one that came from one of the married women… her husband told her that she was the most beautiful woman in the world even if she was only wearing cheap lingerie that time. That sealed her undying love for him, she said! All the women said “awww!” We the single women at the table wanted to know if her husband has a sibling we can hook up with! Hahaha!

It was so much fun, I tell you. We promised to have dinner again very soon with the married people bring their spouses with them and the single but in a relationship to bring their significant others.

An intimate party

backyard dinner party

She is planning an intimate party on her 40th birthday. Just for her closest friends only. There will be a different party for her family and that will be bigger as she has a lot of relatives to invite. But for her best friends, it will be just a small dinner party at her backyard.

It will all be about good food, wine, sweets and wonderful conversations. She already asked someone to set up Mackie PA Speakers at the backyard so there will be soft music playing in the background.

She already sent out the invites and every one confirmed their attendance. She can’t wait to celebrate her big 4-0!

Games from the past

Saturday, February 18th, 2012

Kids these days are not that aware of street games anymore. Or those that became popular during my teens. Most of the games from the past were played outdoors and with other kids. These days, kids play inside the house, sitting on a chair facing the computer. It’s really good that some parents introduce old games to their kids. My uncle bought his son, my 8-year-old cousin a henrys yoyo. He didn’t want it at first as he was asking for something else but when my uncle taught him some tricks, he began having fun and getting more and more interested.

The past couple of days after school were spent learning new tricks. My uncle told us that my cousin is really good! Father and son might join a competition in the near future. They are already discussing it.

A great wedding gift

Tuesday, February 14th, 2012

I was thinking of a great wedding gift to give to a very good friend of mine who is getting married very soon when my sister suggested something for the bedroom. Why not the bed linen uk product from The White Company, she said. I checked it out and I must agree with her. I do think the Belvedere Bed Linen Collection is the best wedding gift I can give my friend and her husband-to-be. She just loves pure white linen and the Belvedere bed linen is just that. Egyptian cotton white bed linen. Perfect!

Whenever I give gifts, I make sure what I give will be used regularly and not just stored somewhere in the house. The bed linen is a good idea to give for a wedding celebration. But make sure to give quality made linen only. Go to The White Company and get one of the bed linen collections they have. You won’t regret giving one.

Strawberry jam

Friday, February 3rd, 2012

My sister learned how to make a strawberry jam and now she wants to do it. She will shop for the ingredients as well as kitchen tools she will need. She is a good cook so I believe the jam will turn out really fine. I am not much into strawberries but I may just try out my sister’s jam.

Berries are not very common in the city. There are some but not as good a quality as that from the Sharis Berries company. I want high quality berries! The little girl will also be eating so I don’t like anything that might give her problems later on.

Sweet gesture

Friday, February 3rd, 2012

A sweet gesture will never go unappreciated. So you gave the old man ashton cigars, he will talk about it again and again until nobody wants to listen to him anymore. He would then smile his special smile and you just know he is truly happy with the gift!

That’s how my paternal grandfather is. He loves gifts especially the ones which will make him look cool. Ha-ha-ha! I just love the old man. I know for a fact that he is proud of all of us his grandchildren. He tells all the neighbors and new found friends about us.

I am praying for more time with him and my grandmother.

Trying out photography

Tuesday, January 31st, 2012

I have a DSLR that a friend of mine got for me. I must admit I am still learning the ropes on how to use it. My sister, on the other hand, is really good with cameras. She has her eye on the Nikon D90 SLR Camera and I just know she will be able to learn faster than I do with my own camera.

My sister told me she really want to try out photography. Become a pro is most likely what she’s referring to. And it’s fine with me! Hey, if it makes her happy, right?

;)

Business launch

Tuesday, January 31st, 2012

My sister has a former high school classmate who is now super rich. She has several businesses under her name, some she manages herself, the others are left with trusted people. My sister was invited to her friend’s most recent business launch. It is a spa business and my sister really got fixated with the spa cover she saw there. She told me that she booked a massage for me and our two other sisters and that she will show me the spa cover she’s talking about.

What I want is to be able to talk to her former classmate about business. I am interested in venturing into my very own business but I would want to get tips from those who are already successful in theirs.

Scary episode

Monday, January 30th, 2012

Do you know how important to have an online backup or any sort of backup is? If you don’t, I will tell you about it.

I had one big scary episode about two years ago. All my blogs as well as the other blogs of my sister and friends that I am managing were lost! A deadly code virus attacked my hosting cpanel and I was left to search for it and remove it. I was so scared that time because there were a lot of blogs under my hosting account and all of those blogs were attacked. One by one I repaired databases and put the sites back up. It took me three days to finish and even with those number of hours spent fixing the virus attack, I was still left with some files/data lost. I must say it was one scary episode in my online life that I have no intention of ever repeating now or in the future.

But I must admit that losing data and files is likely to happen to anyone. Even those who are securing their files very well. So what can we do to prevent losing data and files that are very important to us, especially for those who use the data and files in their work? Get an online backup service! It is one of the best ways to preserve and protect your valuable files. If what happened to me would happen to anybody it won’t be as scary an episode as it was to me because files are backed up and ready to be used/placed back to the place where it should be.

Decided on getting an online backup service like me? Go to TheTop10BestOnlineBackup.com and go through their list of Top 10 Best Online Backup Companies. Each provider was reviewed and given a score percentage based on a number of factors like price, storage size, money back guarantee and most especially reliability and speed. Go to the site now and read the reviews of each of the best online backup service company on their list.
