Hazel was sick for close to five days since Monday. She had fever and diarrhea. We went to her pedia and aside from the medicine, was advised to stop eating junk food. The thing is, we don’t really allow her to eat junk food. But when she goes out of the house, we don’t know what her folks are giving her. Hay.
The candies got to go. She’s been eating a lot of lollipops lately. And she’s on a soft diet for now. Poor girl’s craving for tempura but it has to wait.
She’s okay now but we’re giving it a few more days before she goes back to her normal diet.
You can really feel the summer heat now. All I want to do is take a bath and never leave the bathroom. My sisters and I am talking about going to the beach. It might be after the end of this school year because the two teachers in the family will be busy for the next few weeks. Plus the other accountant is also busy because of the tax and audit season.
My dad wants to go to Pangasinan again. My siblings don’t want to anymore. We’ve been there a couple of times during the past three years and for us, it’s enough. Our Tia Cely’s place is a tad too small for all of us. The barrio gets too dark by 6PM. There’s no sari-sari store nearby, you have to walk through a literally dark street before you can get there. The light is too malamlam (I don’t know the right term for this in English). The place has a general feel of being gloomy. Don’t get me wrong. Those times we stayed there were memorable ones for us. The company was good. We love our Tia Cely to bits! But to endure another night of gloom when we can just ask Tia Cely to come to Manila and join us elsewhere…
Anyway, I would love to go to Laiya, Batangas. My sisters are saying we go to Boracay. Bahala na. What I do know is that I need to go to the beach.
Hazel went to Pangasinan with her dad last December 28. They went there because her grandma wanted to see her and her siblings. So off she went to her dad’s province…
Notice how bubbly she looked? She’s excited and even had her things ready! Cute di ba? She had her little bag with her pa. They were supposed to go home the day after. But then they decided to extend for one more day. On her second night, her mom called us up to tell her that Hazel was crying really hard and was asking to be brought home. Home meant us. When my sister talked to her, she was sobbing her heart out. We thought she was just missing us but it turned out that she had a large wound and it was hurting so much! Her hand got stuck in the bike’s wheel without her dad knowing it. We were so worried! If Pangasinan is just near, we would have went and gotten her back that very night. Good thing they went home the next day. But it wasn’t until 11 in the evening that we saw her again. Looking like this…
Tell me, would you be happy to see your little girl looking like this? I was already sleeping when she arrived. My sister told me that the little girl couldn’t even stand on her own. She looked so weary. And she was so hungry! After eating, she was able to get up and asked to see her pet (Pancake in Pet Society hehe).
And yes, that’s the infamous bike wound! My sister said that it was obviously not cleaned when Hazel arrived. My dad got angry and scolded her parents. Sobra naman kasing pabaya! We are taking good care of her each and every single day. Three days with them and she went home looking like a 30-year-old stressed out girl with a big open wound to boot!
Hazel is into the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse for months now. She loves the song, the interactive episodes and Minnie Mouse! Tim asked me last Christmas what Hazel’s current fave and I told her that she just loves Minnie Mouse and when she sees her, she imitates the way she dances. Nakakatuwa! And when the show is on, you cannot take the remote control away from her! The hotdog dance needs to be finished before you can change channels. That’s how much she loves her Minnie, Mickey and Goofy!
Are you prepared for the coming May 2010 elections already? Do you have a presidential bet by now?
At home, we are not yet rooting for someone specifically. Although my dad’s rooting for Gibo Teodoro, my siblings and I are not yet convinced on who we’ll vote for. My dad’s convincing us to vote for Gibo. We would if it weren’t for the current president backing him up. Nakakatakot! We’re thinking of Noynoy Aquino but we’re not sure of his capacity to run the country. And his claim to fame is his parents. We don’t even know what he actually did the whole time he’s serving as a Congressman and now as a Senator. Ano nga ba? One of my sisters wants to vote for Dick Gordon. He’s okay but again, I doubt if he’s doing all this without someone backing him up, who in turn will benefit the most if he wins. Mahirap nang magsalita pero I’m sure tatay has a lot to say hehe
Mababaw lang kaming pamilya talaga. In all honesty, even a trip to the mall can be a memorable one for us. Ganyan kami kababaw. For us kasi, as long as the family is complete, we’re fine with it. Just a lunch or dinner together, that’s something already.
We walked through the Eco Trail. Hazel was really brave, wanted to walk on her own. So we let her. She’s walking in front of me. When we got to the hanging bridge, she stopped a bit. I thought she’s looking through the wooden slats. She was indeed looking through the wooden slats while her knees were shaking! She was scared of the ravine below. We told her it’s nothing and that she wouldn’t fall. She walked a few steps but asked my dad to carry her.
When I looked down, it was my knees’ turn to start shaking! Hahaha
My family loves good food. We eat out from time to time. When we do eat out, we really make sure we go somewhere cozy and where we can indulge in the food we love.
We went to Josephine’s last December 26th. The place is still the same. I love the garden overlooking the Taal Lake. The only thing that’s changed is the food. It’s not as good as it used to be. I remember eating there before and the food was superb! Last 26th, I was not the only one who’s disappointed. We picked the place because they haven’t been there before. But the food was not what you’ll expect from such a grand place to eat.
I haven’t posted any holiday pictures yet. Here’s the first one in the series of posts I will do that will show the photos we’ve taken during the holiday season.
The above photo is the Belen or the Nativity Scene in Sto. Domingo Church last December. Ganda ano? Every year, the church puts up a belen and it’s entirely different year after year. It’s something most churchgoers look forward to every holiday season.
My sisters, G and M, are both hooked on GLEE. I am not much a fan of musicals but the refreshing voices of the cast got to me, too. I was surprised that even my friend, Tim, is also hooked to the popular tv show. We are all GLEE fans now!
I like the story of the popular kids becoming involved in the music club. You normally see the geeks and the nerds being bullied in school for being involved in a music club they think are for the “losers” only. But in this musical comedy show, you see the geeks hobnobbing with the jocks and cheerleaders. The show offers a lot for every type of person that’s why I think it’s become popular.
When I think of the future, I don’t only think of myself. My future includes my family, my relatives who are close to us, and my friends. It’s the one thing that I couldn’t help myself from doing. I have grand plans for all of us. Plans that involve a comfortable life. Plans that involve a better tomorrow.
It’s a noble idea to think of everyone else’s welfare. I am not noble but I do want a good life for me and my family and for everyone I love.
We will be missing our goof ball for two days. Hazel is off to Pangasinan with her dad tonight. It’s very rare that I don’t see her falling asleep. I’m like the mother hen worrying if she’ll have a better place to sleep at. And what she’ll eat…
Here’s our goof ball playing with her skirt, pretending to be a nun hehehe
She’ll be back by the 30th, hopefully. Will miss her a lot!
We had Hazel’s hair trimmed. Do you like her new haircut?
I also got my own hair cut short and styled. I love the wash and go haircut because I hate the fuss in the morning or when I am about to go out. And I love the feeling of less weight on my head hehe
Hazel will be a flower girl in my friend’s wedding by next week. She’s excited because her gown is really beautiful. She feels like a little princess when she tried it on. We even took some photos of her but I thought I will just post the photos on the wedding day.
She’s growing up so fast. She’s shy in front of other people at first but give her a few minutes to adjust and you will see a very active little girl who loves to sing, dance, and strike a pose!
My brother is already a second year college student. He’s in his second semester for this year. He’s taking up Information Technology. I always pray that my brother will be guided all throughout. He easily gets into trouble. It won’t take much to provoke him or make him angry. He got it from our dad. Almost all the men in my dad’s side of the family are hotheads. And I always have this fear that my brother would get into trouble because of it.
I pray that he will learn to be patient and to control his emotions. And that he will graduate on time. And that he will live a successful life and find someone who can be his partner through thick and thin.
We are already preparing for the holiday season. I have created my Christmas list and my sister her holiday grocery list. Last year, we did our grocery shopping at the last minute and we found that there were less items you could use for desserts by that time. Unlike when you do it earlier, you can stock up on items you need.
This year, we will be stocking up on dessert creams and other items for fruit salad and crema de fruta.
It is quite obvious how much we adore our little kikay, Hazel. She is the most adorable little girl this side of the planet for us. She turned 4 last October 16 and we celebrated it with a birthday dinner. My sister bought a cake for her after.
The kind of happiness a kid can give you is just too precious. Hazel is growing up so fast and we are savoring every moment with her.
Our little girl will be turning 4 on the 16th. She won’t be having a party this time around. We are just planning to have a birthday dinner for her and will shop for some gifts. She’s growing so much each day and we are enjoying this time with her. I am praying that she will grow up to be a God-fearing person and will stay as good as she is now.
My Own Utopia was conceived when my main blog became too "commercialized". I needed a more personal place, my own utopia, where I can write about my personal experiences, the blessings that come my way, my faith, inspirations in my life, and other things that has a more personal tone.
