I just saw my aunt and she told me that she thought I doubled in size! Huhuhu! How heartbreaking is that?!?
Actually I do know that I really added a lot of weight since the last time I saw my aunt. That was a couple of weeks ago. Imagine the time span and when she saw me she thought I already doubled in size! She reminded me that I am not getting any younger so there is a desperate need for me to lose weight NOW. I know it. I swear I will gather all the self-control that I can muster and will start something.
That’s a vow!

Did you know that quail eggs can actually help boost the number of your blood platelets? I didn’t know that until one of my aunts called me up to tell me that I need to pass on the information to my cousin who might be suffering from dengue. My cousin Ianne had dengue a few months ago and the doctor informed my aunt to get her to eat “pugo” or quail eggs. Her platelet count increased and within two days she was released from the hospital.
My other cousin is still under observation but according to my uncle, the lab results showed that his platelet count increased after eating a couple of quail eggs. You learn something new every day.
Imagine that!

Even though we’re two family members short, my mom and my brother have gone on, having meals as a family is still a cause for joy. I just love the fact that our family can gather at the dining table and spend at least an hour or two eating a hearty lunch or dinner.
We went to hear mass this morning and then we went to the mall to have lunch and shop a bit. We were all full from eating a scrumptious lunch spread and then we just roamed around the mall to buy this and that.
Sundays are really best spent with the family

Maybe because we were not able to spend so much time together on trips when we were growing up that’s why now that we are all grown up, instead of planning trips with friends, we always opt to go on trips as a family. It could be a lot of hassle, you know. There will always going to be two people clashing. My sisters, my brother and my dad. But we still would want to spend as much time together as possible.
My sister, the second one to me, is the one who’s always thinking of ways on how we can go to a certain place we’ve never been to. She already has plans for us this coming holidays and for the early part of next year.
I just hope we have enough budget to go on all those trips she has planned.

My siblings, Hazel and I went to see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows movie part 1 yesterday. It was so much fun! We saw it at the SM City North Edsa The Block cinema 1 and there’s winema. It is an interactive fun activity wherein the whole cinema crowd will have to participate in the game. We were asked to raise both our hands up in the air and help Chuckie bounce off a small bar so as not to fall. We were to raise our hands to the left and the right depending on Chuckie’s needs. And so we did! There was lots of laughter from all of us because we all felt silly waving our hands in the air. We did enjoy it though.
Regarding the movie… It was so much better than what I expected it to be! It was a brilliant adaptation of the book. One that will left you asking for more.
I won’t say anything anymore for the benefit of those who haven’t seen the movie yet. But for the fans of the book series, I am sure you already know what happens next.
I can’t wait for the part 2!
Have you seen HP7 yet?

Having someone wonder where you are when you don’t come home at night is a very old human need.
- Margaret Mead
And you know, it doesn’t have to be a romantic partner. It can be as simple as your parents or siblings or close kin wondering where you are.
When our parents are always monitoring us at night, it gets annoying. But when you think about it, it would be a pity if you haven’t gone home in a while and they weren’t even wondering about you, right?

Do you get along with your siblings?
I do. I am the eldest. I have three sisters and two brothers. I lost a brother back in 1998. I wasn’t that close to my siblings when we were really young because I live with my grandma and grand-aunts on weekends. Plus, I loved playing with my cousins while my siblings stay at home.
But my mom wanted us to bond and grow up really close with each other so she made me play with my siblings more and instilled in me this idea of being my siblings’ protector and guide in life. Since then I made sure that I’m with my siblings when I wasn’t in school. I made sure that I knew where they were and that they didn’t get into mischief. I made sure that they were always out of danger. And in return, they really started treating me as their older sister.

We went to the mall last Saturday to pick up a book I ordered from Fully Booked. When we were about to go home, my sister, Hazel and I noticed that there’s something going on in the middle of the upper ground floor of SM North Edsa’s The Block. It turned out to be a toy fair!
There were different characters like robots, Spiderman, Lara Croft and, of course, Hazel had to take some photos with them. That’s Spiderman in the photo above (obviously) and he was game to pose with the kids. Hazel’s favorite was Lara Croft, though.

My sister G and I love watching horror movies. Even though we are admittedly very easily spooked. We also love talking about spooky things.
And do you know what we do after watching a horror movie or talking about scary stuff? We cannot go to the bathroom alone! Hahaha! We would go by two’s or sometimes all of us together. After a day or two, we’ll forget about the scary stuff and we’re back to wanting to watch another horror movie or another session of spooky stories.
Hahaha!

I am thinking about getting this laptop table for my sister Meng…

She needs one. She loves writing while sitting on the sofa watching tv. This laptop table will give her the comfort she needs while typing away on her laptop.
I hope the seller will send me a message soon.

Our neighbor gave my dad a Beagle puppy. He’s one month old already. Hazel fell in love with the pup the first time she laid eyes on him. We asked her to name him and she said “Milo”. Because his color is like that of the chocolate drink
Everyone, meet Milo. Our cute new baby!

Yesterday was my sister’s birthday. As tradition in our family, we celebrated it by going out and having lunch together. The whole family. We had a blast and we were so full!
September is a busy month for the family. There are three birthdays to celebrate and my mom’s death anniversary to commemorate. And two friends of mine also celebrate their birthdays this month. Busy month!
Next Sunday will be our youngest brother’s birthday. I am thinking of just having dinner at home because he will be out for his thesis defense that day. And then my mom’s death anniversary so we will go visit her grave.
Busy, busy!
