My family and I went to Cebu last January 22 to 24. It was a trip planned by my sister Vi. It’s her and her boyfriend’s Christmas gift for the family. My sister also prepared an itinerary so that we wouldn’t be wasting precious time.
We had a blast! We had so much fun despite the short time we had. We are planning another trip possibly by April. To where we are not sure yet.

Every year for the past several years, the days after Christmas were boring days for us. My siblings and I would ask each other what we could do but we couldn’t come up with anything other than stay at home, do movie marathons, or wait for invites from relatives to visit them. We didn’t have much money to spare back then so we couldn’t very well go to other places.
So for the past four, five years, my siblings and I would already plan for an activity on the 26th to 27th of December. Last year we went to Tagaytay. This year, we went to Subic. We went on a Zoobic Safari adventure!
My sister’s boyfriend was able to get discounted tickets through Zoobic Safari’s Makati office. He just called up to inquire and luckily he was told that there was a discount for tickets of four. 1,499 pesos for 4 tickets. Not bad, right? He got two sets of 4 tickets for all of us. My sister found a rental car for us. And on the 26th, we were off to Subic at the crack of dawn!
I was warned that Subic after Christmas day is horrible. Traffic and lots of people visiting the tourist attractions, including Zoobic Safari. But maybe we were early or very lucky because there was no traffic at all! We started our journey around 4:30 in the morning. We used the SCTEX shortcut to Subic.
Let me warn you about this SCTEX Subic shortcut. If you are alone driving, make sure you have a fully charged cellphone with you and that your radio is cranked up for you to stay awake. A good stretch of SCTEX is unmanned and not lighted. If your car happens to break down in the middle of it, you’ll freak out for sure. When we were traversing the road, ours was the only car around! And it’s a long stretch of nothing but road and rocks and patches of land and nothing else. So better make sure you stay awake, be on alert and have a means of communication while traversing that road.
Upon arriving at Subic, we were able to get some breakfast in our stomachs before hitting the road again to Zoobic Safari.
If you are unfamiliar with SBMA traffic rules, make sure you observe the traffic signs properly. Our driver forgot to fully stop before crossing an intersection and we were flagged down by two traffic officers. Good thing it was just a warning. Also, if you don’t know Subic, you can easily get lost. Like what happened to us! So better make sure you use Google maps and study the place first. Or get a driver who knows Subic well. Zoobic Safari is quite far from SBMA. We got lost while looking for the place. Again, use Google maps before going to Subic.
Anyway, we arrived at Zoobic Safari at around 8am. We were asked to wait for the tour guide. Our group was the first one and I think it’s good that we were on the first batch of tour because we were able to enjoy it at a leisurely pace. The other tour groups looked like they were being hurried from one spot to another by their harassed-looking tour guide.
So it was a great experience for all of us all in all. I will share more photos of our adventure in my next post.

The whole family will be going to my Tita Winnie’s house in ParaƱaque for a mini family reunion. I say mini because it will only be six families who will be attending it. My dad has ten siblings so the rest are not attending it for some reason or another.
My cousins will be attending. My dad, my siblings and I are attending. Hazel will be with us, of course. And two cousins who already have kids of their own. Plus my paternal grandparents.
I just know it will be one fun night for all of us!

I just saw my aunt and she told me that she thought I doubled in size! Huhuhu! How heartbreaking is that?!?
Actually I do know that I really added a lot of weight since the last time I saw my aunt. That was a couple of weeks ago. Imagine the time span and when she saw me she thought I already doubled in size! She reminded me that I am not getting any younger so there is a desperate need for me to lose weight NOW. I know it. I swear I will gather all the self-control that I can muster and will start something.
That’s a vow!

Did you know that quail eggs can actually help boost the number of your blood platelets? I didn’t know that until one of my aunts called me up to tell me that I need to pass on the information to my cousin who might be suffering from dengue. My cousin Ianne had dengue a few months ago and the doctor informed my aunt to get her to eat “pugo” or quail eggs. Her platelet count increased and within two days she was released from the hospital.
My other cousin is still under observation but according to my uncle, the lab results showed that his platelet count increased after eating a couple of quail eggs. You learn something new every day.
Imagine that!

Even though we’re two family members short, my mom and my brother have gone on, having meals as a family is still a cause for joy. I just love the fact that our family can gather at the dining table and spend at least an hour or two eating a hearty lunch or dinner.
We went to hear mass this morning and then we went to the mall to have lunch and shop a bit. We were all full from eating a scrumptious lunch spread and then we just roamed around the mall to buy this and that.
Sundays are really best spent with the family

Maybe because we were not able to spend so much time together on trips when we were growing up that’s why now that we are all grown up, instead of planning trips with friends, we always opt to go on trips as a family. It could be a lot of hassle, you know. There will always going to be two people clashing. My sisters, my brother and my dad. But we still would want to spend as much time together as possible.
My sister, the second one to me, is the one who’s always thinking of ways on how we can go to a certain place we’ve never been to. She already has plans for us this coming holidays and for the early part of next year.
I just hope we have enough budget to go on all those trips she has planned.

My siblings, Hazel and I went to see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows movie part 1 yesterday. It was so much fun! We saw it at the SM City North Edsa The Block cinema 1 and there’s winema. It is an interactive fun activity wherein the whole cinema crowd will have to participate in the game. We were asked to raise both our hands up in the air and help Chuckie bounce off a small bar so as not to fall. We were to raise our hands to the left and the right depending on Chuckie’s needs. And so we did! There was lots of laughter from all of us because we all felt silly waving our hands in the air. We did enjoy it though.
Regarding the movie… It was so much better than what I expected it to be! It was a brilliant adaptation of the book. One that will left you asking for more.
I won’t say anything anymore for the benefit of those who haven’t seen the movie yet. But for the fans of the book series, I am sure you already know what happens next.
I can’t wait for the part 2!
Have you seen HP7 yet?
