After more than 10 years in the corporate world, I’ve up and quit my job. I was an accountant for a call center company here in the Philippines when I thought of quitting my job last year. It was not an altogether easy decision because I am the breadwinner in the family. It is a big risk. I kept on thinking what if I won’t get the same income as I was getting when I was still working? And there are so many things that could go wrong…But my big decision to stop being a corporate rat paid off. For six months last year, I have earned more from doing consultancy work and blogging full time. I am still earning more than if I am still employed. Plus, I just love that…
- I can now work on my own time.
- I do not have to experience the morning rush at the metro rail to the office.
- I need not sweat so much from running to the building a block away while at the same time being too nervous because there is a deadline I have to beat that morning.
- I need not have to deal with cranky bosses who think they are mighty intelligent than you are when in fact you know more than him or her.
- AND there is no need for me to deal with office politics anymore.
There are just too many things to be thankful for. Of course, there is also the perk of going on a vacation somewhere anytime you want

Skittles has a meme called Heads or Tails this week the theme is Share a special memory.

I have so many special memories stored in my heart and one of it is our first vacation without my mom. My dad, me and my siblings went to my dad’s province, Pangasinan. We went to the Hundred Islands which is a tourist attraction in that place. We went swimming.
What made that vacation special was the fact that my dad’s relatives went out of their way to help us recover from my mom’s death. They stood with us through all the tough times and that vacation was our first step to moving on. We had a blast there and bonded with our relatives some more.

Appetizer
Name something you would categorize as weird.
Drinking blood would be weird.

What color was the last piece of food you ate?
Rainbow. I just ate a variety of ice cream flavors in a cup. Yum!
Salad
On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being highest, how much do you enjoy being alone?
Honestly, it would be a 7. I do love being alone. I have said before that eating lunch alone is one of the things I look forward to from time to time. Being alone makes me focus on so many things that I set aside when I am surrounded by a lot of people.
Main Course
Fill in the blank: I will _________ vote for ___________ in _______.
I will definitely vote for you in the event you think of running.
Dessert
Describe your sleeping habits.
I normally sleep around 4am, 2am if I am not feeling well. When I sleep, I should have my blanket over my legs at all times. Otherwise, I will feel it and wake up. I sleep on my side and I cannot sleep without two pillows under my head, my body pillow beside me and another pillow for my feet.
Happy Friday everyone!

Skittles has a meme called Heads or Tails this week the theme is Direction.

After much pondering, praying and consulting, I have decided to continue pursuing that which I have set aside when my mom got sick. I am already mapping out the direction I will be taking come latter part of this year to early part of next year. Wish me luck!
But before anything else, I still have to find out where I can get a Grohe faucet for the kitchen sink. I wish to be able to leave my family in a well functioning house so as not to worry about them when I take the direction I am aiming at.
I hope I did well for my first Heads or Tails

This is a lighthouse in Hundred Islands, Pangasinan, Philippines. We went there last December and had a family gathering of sorts. This is one of the highest structure in the area. I remember when I was a kid, I went up there and it was really high. You could see the nearest islands and can see farther with binoculars.
Happy weekend everyone!

Yesterday was my youngest brother’s graduation from high school. My siblings and I all went to the same pre-school, grade and high schools. The graduation was held at the high school grounds and being there brought a lot of good memories of my own high school days.
There are things that so many people take for granted. Little things that when you focus on, you will realize are important things. Like a happy school life.
I thank God He blessed me with a happy school life. I’ve never had major trouble in school. I finished schooling that I didn’t harm anybody. I thank God that He taught me the value of education and good friends. I thank God that when I go back to old schools and I look back at my life when I was a kid/teenager, it brings back a smile to my face.
And I thank God that my brother and sisters also have the same happy school life like mine.
I thank the Lord that the giddy feeling of reliving my high school life was given to me yesterday.
I do hope you are smiling when you read this post of mine. Like I am smiling while writing this down.
God bless everyone!

“So Abraham called the name of that place, “The Lord will provide”; as it is said to this day, “On the mount of the Lord it shall be provided.””
~ Genesis 22:14 (ESV ~ emphasis mine)
I worry at times. Yes, I pray a lot but there are days that I cannot help but worry. I worry mostly about the health of the family. And more on our finances. I provide for my family and my worst fear is to be able to wake up someday and not be able to provide for my dad and my siblings. No, not on a grand scale but you know, pay the utilities, my mom’s medical bills, my youngest sibling’s tuition fees…
Lately, I’ve been noticing that every time I worry about the state of our finances, God tells me something in His own way. A week ago, I am worrying that my brother will be going to college this coming June and there are just so many bills that needed payments soon. And then the blessings come pouring in.
God is good all the time.
So I was reminded of a friend’s constant advice to us… If you pray, why worry?
