WS: Hazel's day

Sunday, October 25th, 2009

It is quite obvious how much we adore our little kikay, Hazel. She is the most adorable little girl this side of the planet for us. She turned 4 last October 16 and we celebrated it with a birthday dinner. My sister bought a cake for her after.

The kind of happiness a kid can give you is just too precious. Hazel is growing up so fast and we are savoring every moment with her.

Have a great week!

WS: Hazel's new toys

Sunday, September 13th, 2009

I got a call from Tatay telling me that he’ll be dropping by to give something for Hazel. She got excited when I told her about it. So excited that when she saw what Lolo’s (Hazel calls Tatay “Lolo”) giving her, she got tongue-tied! Hahaha

From Tatay and Tita Liza

She won’t stop riding the ATV day and night. She will only stop when the news is on. Otherwise, that’s now her chair when not running. Sinagasaan na lahat sa bahay! She also sets up slippers on the floor. Road humps ba. Hehehe

nininbike4

That's supposed to be a peace sign kaso nangalay na haha

There’s also an ironing board with that little basket and three clothes hanger. Nakakaaliw talaga! When this was set up, she took all hankies so she can pretend to iron it. She sings while she irons. I don’t know where she got that idea but she loves singing while pretending to be ironing. Hahaha

Singing while pretending to be ironing her towel :)

Thanks, Tatay and Tita! Hazel is really happy with the toys. The small cars are with my brother. Kinukutingting. Hehehe

Happy Sunday and have a productive week everyone!

WS: Hazel's Nutrition Week parade day

Sunday, August 16th, 2009

As what you read before, I was totally against Hazel going to school this year. But my vote was overruled and she was enrolled at a public daycare two blocks away. Well, it seems our little girl is enjoying meeting new friends so I am already fine with the idea of her going to school. As long as our little girl’s happy, then I am happy as well.

Last week, they had a Nutrition Week parade. When I woke up, I was surprised to find my baby with tomatoes on her head! I am not sure if she’s part of the grow, glow or go group of food. Hmm…

tomatoninin

Hazel had tomatoes on her head for a parade for the Nutrition Week in their school.

She wore her P.E. uniform under the tomato costume her mom did. It was a tad big for her and she got annoyed when we kept on adjusting it.

tomatoninin2

She's supposed to look like a big tomato but she's not cooperating. She's already annoyed in this photo hehe

It was a long walk according to her. But she looked like she enjoyed it. I didn’t get photos of the parade itself. She was accompanied by her mom and the photos in their digicam were not yet uploaded to my laptop. After the parade, she changed into her cooler dress.

afterparade

She went home looking like this already. That's her Barbie backpack and her mini lunch bag.

As usual, we went out afterwards. Sayang naman porma niya kasi hehe

afterparade2

Hazel ready to go out after the parade. Doesn't she look good?

By the way, Weekend Snapshot already has a new home. You might want to join. Just check out the new home of this meme.

Happy Sunday and have a productive week everyone!

WS: Sophie's Day at Jollibee

Sunday, July 19th, 2009

hazelsophie

(L to R) Birthday girl, Sophie, with her dad and Hazel with the party host. The boy wearing a yellow shirt is Anna's son, Dexter.

Last July 12, Hazel and I attended my goddaughter’s first birthday party. Sophia Louise, or Sophie, is my friend, Tim‘s daughter. Sophie’s first birthday celebration was held at Jollibee Green Meadows branch. Jollibee, for those who are not Filipinos, is the most popular fastfood here in the Philippines. McDonald’s come in second.

hazelsophie2

Hazel joined the longest contest...

Most parents who can afford it celebrate their kids’ birthday parties at Jollibee branches. The mascots and the food are kids’ favorites. Filipino kids grew up with Jollibee. It is only natural that my beautiful goddaughter celebrated her first birthday there.

hazelsophie3

Happy Birthday, Sophieeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

So Hazel’s been practicing reciting “Happy birthday, Sophie” holding her breath. Unfortunately, she got hoarse when it was time for her to recite it! She was really excited. At least she got a consolation prize hehe

I’ve never seen our little girl as active as when she’s at Sophie’s party. Nakakatuwa sobra! She had lots of kwento when she got home, exhausted from joining the contests but still smiling. Sophie’s party was really a blast!

I would like to thank Anna of A Commuter’s Life for the photos above. I forgot to bring the digicam with me (darn!) so these are the only photos I have.

Happy Sunday everyone! Have a great week!

WS: Happy Dad's Day to all!

Sunday, June 21st, 2009

dadninin

That’s my dad with Hazel. This photo was not taken this weekend but was shot last October 2008 inside the church. Since it’s Father’s Day today, I thought I would post a photo of my dad. But then I hesitated posting a photo of him facing the camera because he might not like it hehe. Thus, this photo :)
We celebrated Father’s Day last week, confused with the priests’ blessings and greetings. Since today is the real Father’s Day, there will be a celebration again consisting of a special lunch and some cake and ice cream to make it a bit festive.

How about you, what are your plans to celebrate Dad’s Day today?

Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers out there!
;)

WS: Aloha!

Our little girl being her usual cute self hehe

Hazel is supposed to start school on Monday, June 15. But we decided against it because of the A(N1H1) scare. She’s only three anyway and has lots of time to catch up if ever. We are opting to teach her at home for now and postpone going to school until next school year.

Better safe than sorry.

Have a great week! For all the college students starting classes tomorrow, keep safe and good luck!

WS: Mount Samat

Sunday, May 3rd, 2009

When we went to Bataan for some sand and sun, we also planned on stopping by Mount Samat

mtsamat

Mt. Samat is the place where you can find the Shrine of Valor. This place served as a sanctuary to the Filipino and American soldiers who battled the Japanese in the 1940s. The white cross on top of Mt. Samat was built in memory of those who suffered in the Battle of Bataan.

mtsamat1

On the day we went there, it was blistering hot. I opted to stay behind with Hazel and my dad. I am afraid of heat stroke. That triggered my mom’s illness before she was diagnosed with her kidney ailment. But we enjoyed looking at everyone going up :)
Know more about Mt. Samat here.

WS: Bagac, Bataan

Sunday, April 26th, 2009

When my uncle told us about his experience at Bagac, Bataan, I immediately asked my dad if he wanted to go there. I always base our next destination to a place where my dad has never been to. And he said yes to Bataan. It was our plan to go to Laiya, Batangas but then off to Bataan we went instead.

Let me share with you some photos I took…

But then, we saw the big waves so we opted to just…

Goof around :P

Did you notice I was wearing my eyeglasses? I wanted to see the view and enjoy the surroundings so I opted to wear it while I was sitting by the shore. All of a sudden one big wave slapped me on the face. It would have been hilarious if it didn’t take my eyeglasses with it! That was Saturday morning, before 9AM :( Needless to say, I was almost blind as a bat at night. But then I realized it might have happened for me to truly relax. Imagine not seeing anything at night except those at least a foot away from your face hehe

This was the cottage that we rented.

And the beautiful view from the cottage’s veranda.

We were near the shore so we could hear the waves while lounging around. All in all, our two-day getaway to Bagac, Bataan was truly a memorable experience for all of us.

Have a wonderful week everyone!

WS: Sunrise in Bataan

Monday, April 20th, 2009

sunrise

I took this photo yesterday morning at around 5AM. Sunrise in Bataan. Bataan is not yet too commercialized unlike other summer destinations here in the Philippines. But more and more people are discovering the province.

I am still sorting photos. I will share more photos of our Bataan trip in my next entry.

May we all have a happy and productive week everyone! Happy Monday!

WS: My cellphone went dead on me :(

Saturday, April 4th, 2009

Yesterday I was at my friend’s house and was texting my sister. All of a sudden, the left side keys of my cellphone just wouldn’t function. I turned off the phone, took out the battery, put it back on after a minute. Nothing!

My cellphone has been with me for over a year. I am not choosy when it comes to cellphones as long as I can text and call. I also don’t buy expensive ones. Now, I am thinking what phone to buy. I am saving up for an Amazon Kindle but I think I will use part of my savings for a new phone.

Still undecided though…
:)
Happy weekend!

WS: Jollibee Birthday Party

Sunday, March 29th, 2009

jbee-mascots

My cousin, Ianne Nicole, had her 7th birthday party at Jollibee Luneta Park. She was asked to choose between a trip to Bangkok or a birthday party. She chose the latter so she can celebrate her 7th year here on earth with her friends and numerous cousins.

jbee-firstloot

It was a lot of fun, especially for Hazel. The theme of the party was the Bratz dolls. And my aunt and her husband got 5 Jollibee mascots to make an appearance: Jollibee, Hetty, Twirlie, Poppo and Yum.

More photos after the jump… (more…)

Thinking Cap and WS: Posing

Sunday, March 8th, 2009

I am putting my thinking cap on today. I have so many ideas that needed sorting out. I will also have to think about a big decision I will have to make regarding our house. It will cost me a chunk out of my savings. I have been playing with this idea for quite some time now but it was only last night that I finally told myself that I either have to take the plunge or dilly-dally forever about it. By tomorrow night, I will have to come up with that decision. Positive, I will have to map out the next few months, estimate the budget and just hold on tight for a rough ride. Negative, no change in status quo but…

Anyway, I will tell you more about it within the next few days ;)

Below is my entry for this week’s Weekend Snapshot.

Our little girl, Hazel, loves to pose before the camera. I think it’s pretty obvious if you’ve seen my previous WS entries. She will tell you how she will pose and when to take the picture. I tell you, the little kid knows her stuff! Hehehe

She told me that she’d go to the back and to take a photo of her hehe

This little girl really makes my day! I love how she would smile at me in the morning when she sees me wide awake early. She would come home after playing out of the house with her siblings and will ask if it’s time for us to eat lunch already. And she knows how to calm me down. When she sees me fuming mad or just plain angry about something, she will hug me and save “loooove”. Tanggal ang inis! Hehe
