WS: My Little Valentine

tboy2

How did I spend my Valentine’s Day? Out with the little girl!

Actually, we went to the mall last February 13 to watch Inkheart and when you ask her where she wants to eat, she’ll tell you Teriyaki Boy. She loves the Lapu-Lapu Tempura there. Naturally, we ate at TBoy!

And then…

And on Valentine’s Day, we went to the mall again and ate at Teriyaki Boy again! I believe I won’t be eating at TBoy for months after that 2 days eating there. We went to see someone at The Block and I went home smiling while Hazel was sleeping.

By the way, I forgot to post a photo of Hazel with her new haircut. She got it last Monday while I was at Tim’s… Do you like it?

More photos after the jump… (more…)

WS: Sunshine, Sunlight here I come!

Sunlight

I will get my much needed sunshine later. Since I work at home, I hardly go out unless I really need to. I, therefore, miss sunshine so much that I make sure the windows are open in the morning to let it all in.

I’ll be off in an hour or two to Tim’s house to sample her cooking and talk about girl stuff :)
Have a great week everyone!

WS: My Alma Mater

Sunday, February 1st, 2009

olshs

Yesterday was our alma mater’s Jubilee celebration. My alma mater is Our Lady of the Sacred Heart School (OLSHS) in Plaridel Street, Quezon City. It is a Catholic school run by nuns, under the Augustinian order. I spent my entire grade and high school there. I know almost all the teachers until now. Even the security guard! It’s been the same since I left it over a decade ago. Improved the facade a little, upgraded their system a bit, most classrooms are now airconditioned. But other than that, it’s still the same school where I spent more than 10 years of my happy childhood and adolescent life.

Oh, I was not able to attend the Jubilee celebration. I should mention that despite the system upgrade and all that, they still lack the resources to notify every one about this celebration. Those with siblings still studying there were advised about this. But for us who are all out of school, well, we just found out yesterday. And tickers are all sold out! Darn!

Anyway, I still visit from time to time. I still visit old school teachers who blurt out my name, my accomplishments (and disciplinary actions taken against me) when they see me.

I miss OLSHS! I still know our alma mater song by heart hehe

Have a great week everyone!

WS: Chinese New Year

Sunday, January 25th, 2009

tikoy-anyone
Tikoy, anyone?

My sister teaches at a Chinese school somewhere in Manila. Her students, all Chinese of course, gave her boxes of Tikoy. Tikoy, according to Chinese, is a sign of good luck. It means that luck and success will stick with you throughout the year.

assorted
Did you know that there are other flavors of tikoy besides the usual white one? Ube is my favorite!

It’s the Year of the Ox. The Ox, or the Buffalo sign symbolizes prosperity through fortitude and hard work. We need to work hard people.

Happy (Chinese) New Year everyone!

WS: Opening the gifts

Monday, December 29th, 2008

The little girl was excitedly ripping the gift wrap.

Ate Meng’s gift…

A no-spill bottle for her milk and a cap :)

Her nyanyang’s and Ate Vi’s gift…

A tea party set and a Dora carriage!

My gift is a pretty little dress that she wore on Christmas day and which I forgot to take a photo of. I will just have to make her wear it again after it is washed :)
Happy Monday everyone!

WS: Meet Mocha

Monday, December 15th, 2008

My new buddy during the wee hours of the night that I am all alone, updating my blogs, waiting for opps, dropping cards…

Watching over me… literally.

Cuddling with David hehe

She’s actually part of the loot bag that Hazel got from a birthday party she attended this afternoon. Since she already has lots of little toys, she gave Mocha to me. Cute! :)

Weekend Snapshot Ed#13

Sunday, May 4th, 2008

My aunt and I were talking last weekend about our dream of owning a farm someday. This is a vacant piece of land that we are looking at buying. Next year, most probably. We just want a place where the family can go to for a weekend getaway or for the old folks to retire when the time comes they get tired of the city.

Praying you’ll have a great week ahead :)

Kuya Dom Lawrence, OSB sent me a package containing this shirt and a card. It arrived last week and I was not able to thank him properly for it. My dad’s using the shirt now. Naunahan ako hehe

Thanks, kuya! :)
We’ll be seeing each other by next week along with tita Liza. Can’t wait! Kuya’s so fun to be with. The first time we met when he went home several months ago, I was not expecting a monk who laughs a lot and talks a lot. But he was. And I just know he’ll have a lot of stories to tell once we see each other again.

Happy Monday everyone! Here’s hoping we’ll all have a productive week :)

Our little girl is ready to go swimming this coming Friday! See her in her knitted one-piece bathing suit done by her grandma… (click photos for larger view)

Isn’t she adorable? ;) And how about her bathing suit? Her grandma is very creative when it comes to knitting. You should see her works!

Anyway, have a fun week ahead everyone!

Baguio trip and Weekend Snapshot

Monday, April 14th, 2008

Warning: This is a longish post. This post contains an update on my latest Baguio trip and my Weekend Snapshot entry.

When I came back from Baguio, I still carried around that feeling of being on vacation. Ang hirap bumalik sa work mode hehe… So I just scheduled two posts and that’s it.

We went to Baguio last Friday, April 4 at around 3am. We were 21 persons in all. 3 aunts and 2 uncles from my father’s side of the family with their families. We went there because my dad have not seen Baguio yet and it was his 50th birthday last April 2nd. We stayed at Tiptop Vacation Homes located at Pacdal Road, Baguio City. It’s a bit far from downtown but I swear to you, the place is worth it! Php4,000 a night with a great view of the surroundings plus no charges for additional beds. Click here to see what the place looks like.

Ganyan kami karami hehe

When we went to Baguio, the temperature at night was 15 degrees. Brrr… Love the cold weather! We went to the usual tourist spots like Burnham Park (where the kids went boating and we had fun with bikes), Mines View Park, Wright Park, Strawberry Farm, Bell Church, Grotto. And then at night, we had barbecues and lots of laughs.

We have so many photos taken and you will see more of it in the coming Weekend Snapshot entries of mine. Below is my official entry for the Weekend Snapshot this week.

That’s the view from the terrace of the place we stayed at. I think that’s around 6 in the evening. I really recommend the place we stayed at. The owners are great. Very accommodating. You need only ask them and they will give it to you. The place is high so it’s much colder than when you’re downtown. And the house is very cozy and clean.

My family, relatives and I just love Baguio so much. A province and yet a city. You get the tranquility and peace of being in the province yet you still get the benefits of being in a city.

Have a great week everyone!
